Ma’asei HaShlikhim
(Acts of the Apostles )

Ma’asei HaShlikhim Perek 7

37This is the Moshe who said to the sons of Yisra’el, ‘ hvhy your Elohim will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brethren; give heed to Him.’ 38It was he who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the Messenger who spoke to him and to our fathers in mount Sinai. He is the one who received the living words to give to us. 39Yet our fathers would not listen to him, but they left him, and in their hearts turned towards Mitzrayim. 40They said to Aaron, ‘Make us gods to go before us, for this very Moshe who brought us out of the land of Mitzrayim, we do not know what has become of him.’ 41And they made a calf for themselves in those days and offered sacrifices to idols, and were pleased with the work of their hands.”
42“Then Elohim turned and gave them up that they might worship the host of heaven, as it is written in the book of the prophets, ‘O Sons of Yisra’el, why have you offered me slain creatures or sacrifices during the period of forty years in the wilderness? 43Indeed you have borne the tabernacle of Molokh and the star of the god Rephan; and you have made images to worship them; therefore I will remove you beyond Bavel.’ 44Behold the tabernacle of the testimony of our fathers was in the wilderness just as hvhy , who spoke to Moshe, had commanded him to make it after the pattern which he had shown him. 45And this very tabernacle, our fathers, together with Yahoshua, brought into the land which Elohim took away from the peoples whom He drove out before them and gave it to them for an inheritance, and it was handed down until the days of David, 46who found favor before Elohim and asked that he might find a dwelling place for the Elohim of Ya’akov. 47But Shlomo built Elohim a house. 48Yet the Most High did not dwell in temples made with hands, for as the prophet had said, 49‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is the footstool under my feet. What kind of house will you build me, says hvhy , or where is the place of my rest? 50Behold, has not my hand made all these things?’”
