BaMidbar 8:1-3 says
And יהוה spoke unto Moshe, saying, “Speak unto Aharon, and say unto him, ‘When you ascend [to] the lamps, (plural) the seven lamps (plural) shall give light in front of the Menorah’.” And Aharon did so: he lit the lamps (plural) thereof so as to give light in front of the Menorah, as יהוה commanded Moshe.
In the KJV it reads
And Yahuah spake unto Moshe, saying, Speak unto Aaron, and say unto him, When thou light the lamps (plural) the seven lamps ((plural) shall give light over against (in opposition to) the candlestick [menorah].
The Hebrew word for “lamps” here, according to Strong’s Concordance, is [H05216] ryn niyr, neer/ properly, meaning to glisten; a lamp (i.e. the burner) or light (literally or figuratively): candle, lamp, light. “Against” is [H06440) Mynp paniym, root: paw-neem’a primitive root; to turn; by implication, to face.
Here is my speculation. There were seven other lamps, or sconces, within the holy place and they were to “face” the Menorah. 7+7 = 14. 14 is the number of deliverance. There was deliverance, in the holy place. Deliverance from sin, before entering the Holy of Holies.
BaMidbar 8:1-3
And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against (facing) the candlestick (menorah – seven lamps), as Yahuah commanded Moses.
The menorah is a physical symbol of the Holy Spirit who is seen, in the fire of Elohim throughout scripture as the seal and token of Elohim’s covenant. It was made of beaten gold which is always applicable to Yahuah and used with pagan gods, as well.
We see in scripture that lamps indicate Covenants:
With Abraham in Gen 15:17:
And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces. (To make covenant) Gal. 3:16 says: Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Yeshua.
In The Tabernacle in Ex. 27:20-21:
And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause the lamp (singular) to burn always. In the tabernacle of the congregation without the veil, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before Yahuah: it shall be a statute forever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.
In Creation in Gen. 1:2:
And HaRuach Elohim moved (H7363: a primitive root; to brood; by implication, to be relaxed:–flutter, move, shake.) upon the face of the waters.
With Man in Prov. 20:27:
The spirit of man is the candle of Yahuah, searching all the inward parts of the belly. Rom. 8:26-27 says: Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of Elohim.
So, the fire is indicative of the Holy Ghost who is a perpetual testimony (as the menorah was), to us, of the presence of Yahuah, forever.
Luke 3:16
John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire.
Now, that fire has passed upon all who believe, when HaRuach comes to live in you.
Matt. 5:14
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.
We see the Menorah/Ha Ruach in Rev. 4:5
And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before (in front of) the throne, which are the seven Spirits of Elohim (the menorah).
Menorah Lamps
- CENTER = Holy Spirit (Shamash Ruach);
- on the left (Man): fear (spiritual), knowledge (soul), might (body);
- on the right (Spirit of Elohim): counsel, understanding, wisdom.
The importance of HaRuach can not be overstated:
In Mark 3:28-29 Yeshua says:
Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
Acts 2:1-4
And when the day of Shavuot was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Are there women in heaven? (sorry, ladies. Men only club) No, there are no males either.
Matt. 22:30
For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of Elohim, in heaven.
What is the number one duty of a husband? Protect and provide for his wife and children. Yeshua elevated the Holy Spirit above himself and the Father.
The Hebrew word “Menorah”, which represents the Spirits of Elohim, is feminine. The Ruach HaKodesh is the feminine portion of Elohim. When HaSatan wants to pervert the genders of mankind, he simply appeals to the opposite side of the psyche, thereby, confusing the unbeliever.
Prov. 8:1-3
Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding (right side of the menorah, the spirit of Elohim side,) put forth her voice? She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths. She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.
Prov. 8:22-31
Yahuah possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth: While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him; Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
Gen. 1:1-2
In the beginning Elohim created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And HaRuach Elohim moved (H7363: a primitive root; to brood; by implication, to be relaxed:–flutter, move, shake.) upon the face of the waters.
The Holy Spirit is the expression of Elohim’s love:
1 John 4:7-8, 11-13
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love…Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. (His love in us, is the Holy Spirit.)
John 14:21
He that hath my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
John 15:10
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
1 John 2:5
But whoso keeps his word, in him verily is the love of Elohim perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
John 13:35
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
1John 3:24
And he that keeps his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit (of love) which he hath given us.
Here is an axiom:
We, who are born of the spirit, are to live above emotional entanglements; being dead to their snares and traps that would, easily, deceive us.
1 Cor. 6: 7
Now, therefore, there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?
How shall we handle insults and verbal abuse?
Remember the phrase “Dead Men Don’t.”
Romans 6:
Dead Men Don’t… become insulted,
Dead Men Don’t… hold a grudge,
Dead Men Don’t… uphold ego,
Dead Men Don’t… seek vengeance,
Dead Men Don’t… impose their opinion on others (If your opinion is true then it will rise to the surface, without your insistence),
Dead Men Don’t… become embittered,
Dead Men Don’t… uphold their self-esteem above others; for their esteem and value are hidden in Yeshua.
James 3:16
For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
The number thirteen is one of rebellion and the writer’s response to rebellion in Heb 13:1 is: Let brotherly love continue.
1 Pet. 4:8
And above all things have fervent charity (mercy – love in action) among yourselves: for charity (mercy – love in action) shall cover the multitude of sins.
Therefore…
Believers DO… (1 Cor. 13:4) become patient; suffering long,
Believers DO… be kind,
Believers DO… practice charity (mercy – love in action),
Believers DO… not envy,
Believers DO… humble themselves before others,
Believers DO… not behave immodestly,
Believers DO… seek the benefit for others,
Believers DO… not become easily provoked,
Believers DO… think no evil,
Believers DO… rejoice in the truth,
Believers DO… bear all things,
Believers DO… believe all things,
Believers DO… hope all things,
Believers DO… endure all things.
1 Cor. 13:8
Love never fails: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
The key to our kingship is subjection to one another; for the meek (the sacrifice of self-identity) shall inherit all things (Matt. 5:5). This is seen in the marriage covenant. The submissive wife inherits all things in the marriage; she’s more than a conqueror.
Here’s another axiom: We get the benefit of the resurrection, without the death of the crucifixion.
1 Pet. 3:1-3
Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; while they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. Whose adorning let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of Elohim of great price.
Carrying forward the same admonition…
1 Pet. 5:5
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility (sacrificing self-esteem): for Elohim resists the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
Mark 10:44-45
And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
1 Pet. 5: 6-9
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of Elohim, that he may exalt you, in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary HaSatan, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
John 3:6-8
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. The wind bloweth where it wills, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and where it goes: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
Remember, DEAD MEN DON’T from:
Rom. 6:3-14
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Yeshua HaMashiach were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Yeshua was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Yeshua, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Yeshua being raised from the dead dies no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he lives, he lives unto Elohim. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto Elohim through Yeshua HaMashiach Adoneinu. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto Elohim, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto Elohim. For sin shall not have dominion over you.
When we impose ourselves upon others we are taking dominion over them and sin is at the door. “For ye are not under the law, but under grace”, which is divine influence.
Rom. 6:16-18
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But Elohim be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
If we want to see Adonai, we must become dead to self and alive to righteousness, through love. Matt. 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see Elohim.
Isa 6:1-4
In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also Yahuah sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is Yahuah Tzevaot: the whole earth is full of his glory. And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
