Our History

Our story began around 2007 when Congregation Bat Tzion grew out of a weekly Torah study in a home. Since then, many have come to our congregation seeking to follow God through obedience to His Torah. In time, as we grew, it became apparent that we would need a synagogue where we could gather on Shabbat and other Feasts.

Our congregation has been housed in various places over the years. We began by sharing buildings with two different Christian congregations in The Woodlands area over a period of years. They allowed us to use the facilities on Saturdays while they met there on Sundays. In 2016, with the collective efforts of our congregants, we rented and built out our own facility at Hanna Rd. Business Park in Oak Ridge North. This was a significant milestone, a testament to the dedication and support of our members. It enabled us to arrange things as needed for Shabbat service and other functions with minimum weekly effort. In 2024, we rented a facility off Robinson Rd in Oak Ridge North Commerce Park. Then, in the summer of 2025, we moved to our current facility. Puente Para Cristo in Pinehurst has graciously allowed us to share their space on Hwy 249.

Through the years, our congregation has evolved in many ways to serve those who endeavor to walk the Messianic path. Our weekly Torah studies have enriched our understanding of Messiah Yeshua and His Kingdom. On Shabbats, we have been able to offer classes in Hebrew for reading God’s Word in its original language. Our yearly Feasts and Shabbat celebrations have been times of great joy.  Our music and dance teams seek to lead us in worship through songs of praise that are scriptural. They have incorporated Hebraic and Christian songs and dances, plus many original compositions from our members. Our children’s classes have enabled parents to instill in their children a knowledge of the Torah.

To provide for our congregation members and reach out to others worldwide, we began a YouTube channel in 2012 to make our Shabbat services and weekly Torah Studies available. We also began live-streaming our services in 2017. With our move to the current facility, our live-streaming is on hiatus.

We praise our Elohim, who has seen us through many things and continues to bless us. We are a people who have always endeavored to follow His direction for us and we look forward to what He will teach us and bring to us in this season and in the future of our community life.
