VaYikra Chapter 9
1 And it came to pass on the eighth day, that Moshe called Aharon and his sons, and the elders of Yisra'el; 2 and he said unto Aharon, "Take a bull-calf for a Khatat, and a ram for an Olah, without blemish, and offer them before יהוה . And 3 unto B'nei Yisra'el you shall speak, saying, "Take a he-goat for a Khatat; and a calf and a lamb, both of the first year, without blemish, for an Olah; 4 and an ox and a ram for Shalom offerings, to sacrifice before יהוה ; and a Minkhah mingled with oil; for today יהוה appears unto you." 5 And they brought that which Moshe commanded before the Ohel Mo'ed; and all the assembly drew near and stood before יהוה . And 6 Moshe said, "This is the thing which יהוה commanded that you should do; that the Kavod יהוה may appear unto you." 7 And Moshe said unto Aharon, "Draw near unto HaMizbe'akh, and offer your Khatat, and your Olah, and make atonement for yourself, and for the people; and present the offering of the people, and make atonement for them, as יהוה commanded." 8 So Aharon drew near unto HaMizbe'akh, and slew the calf of the Khatat, which was for himself. 9 And the sons of Aharon presented the blood unto him; and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it upon the horns of HaMizbe'akh, and poured out the blood at the base of HaMizbe'akh. 10 But the fat, and the kidneys, and the lobe of the liver of the Khatat he made smoke upon HaMizbe'akh, as יהוה commanded Moshe. 11 And the flesh and the skin were burnt with fire without the camp. 12 And he slew the Olah; and Aharon’s sons delivered unto him the blood, and he dashed it against HaMizbe'akh round about. 13 And they delivered the Olah unto him, piece by piece, and the head, and he made them smoke upon HaMizbe'akh. 14 And he washed the inwards and the legs, and made them smoke upon the Olah on HaMizbe'akh. 15 And the people’s offering was presented; and he took the goat of the Khatat which was for the people, and slew it, and offered it for sin, as the first. 16 And the Olah was presented; and he offered it according to the ordinance. 17 And HaMinkhah was presented; and he filled his hand therefrom and made it smoke upon HaMizbe'akh, besides the Olah of the morning. 18 He slew also the ox and the ram, the Z'vakh Sh'lamim offerings, which was for the people; and Aharon’s sons delivered unto him the blood, and he dashed it against HaMizbe'akh round about, 19 and the fat of the ox, and of the ram, the fat tail, and that which covers the inwards, and the kidneys, and the lobe of the liver. 20 And they put the fat upon the breasts, and he made the fat smoke upon HaMizbe'akh. 21 And the breasts and the right thigh Aharon waved for a Tenufah before יהוה as Moshe commanded. 22 And Aharon lifted up his hands toward the people, and blessed them; and he came down from offering the Khatat, and the Olah, and the Sh'lamim offerings. 23 And Moshe and Aharon went into the Ohel Mo'ed, and came out, and blessed the people; and the Kavod יהוה appeared unto all the people. 24 And there came forth fire from before יהוה , and consumed upon the Mizbe'akh HaOlah and the fat; and when all the people saw it, they shouted, and fell on their faces.

א וַיְהִי בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁמִינִי קָרָא מֹשֶׁה לְאַהֲרֹן וּלְבָנָיו וּלְזִקְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל. ב וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל אַהֲרֹן קַח לְךָ עֵגֶל בֶּן בָּקָר לְחַטָּאת וְאַיִל לְעֹלָה תְּמִימִם וְהַקְרֵב לִפְנֵי יהוה . ג וְאֶל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל תְּדַבֵּר לֵאמֹר קְחוּ שְׂעִיר עִזִּים לְחַטָּאת וְעֵגֶל וָכֶבֶשׂ בְּנֵי שָׁנָה תְּמִימִם לְעֹלָה. ד וְשׁוֹר וָאַיִל לִשְׁלָמִים לִזְבֹּחַ לִפְנֵי יהוה וּמִנְחָה בְּלוּלָה בַשָּׁמֶן כִּי הַיּוֹם יהוה נִרְאָה אֲלֵיכֶם. ה וַיִּקְחוּ אֵת אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה מֹשֶׁה אֶל פְּנֵי אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד וַיִּקְרְבוּ כָּל הָעֵדָה וַיַּעַמְדוּ לִפְנֵי יהוה . ו וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה זֶה הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יהוה תַּעֲשׂוּ וְיֵרָא אֲלֵיכֶם כְּבוֹד יהוה . ז וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל אַהֲרֹן קְרַב אֶל הַמִּזְבֵּחַ וַעֲשֵׂה אֶת חַטָּאתְךָ וְאֶת עֹלָתֶךָ וְכַפֵּר בַּעַדְךָ וּבְעַד הָעָם וַעֲשֵׂה אֶת קָרְבַּן הָעָם וְכַפֵּר בַּעֲדָם כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יהוה . ח וַיִּקְרַב אַהֲרֹן אֶל הַמִּזְבֵּחַ וַיִּשְׁחַט אֶת עֵגֶל הַחַטָּאת אֲשֶׁר לוֹ. ט וַיַּקְרִבוּ בְּנֵי אַהֲרֹן אֶת הַדָּם אֵלָיו וַיִּטְבֹּל אֶצְבָּעוֹ בַּדָּם וַיִּתֵּן עַל קַרְנוֹת הַמִּזְבֵּחַ וְאֶת הַדָּם יָצַק אֶל יְסוֹד הַמִּזְבֵּחַ. י וְאֶת הַחֵלֶב וְאֶת הַכְּלָיֹת וְאֶת הַיֹּתֶרֶת מִן הַכָּבֵד מִן הַחַטָּאת הִקְטִיר הַמִּזְבֵּחָה כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יהוה אֶת מֹשֶׁה. יא וְאֶת הַבָּשָׂר וְאֶת הָעוֹר שָׂרַף בָּאֵשׁ מִחוּץ לַמַּחֲנֶה. יב וַיִּשְׁחַט אֶת הָעֹלָה וַיַּמְצִאוּ בְּנֵי אַהֲרֹן אֵלָיו אֶת הַדָּם וַיִּזְרְקֵהוּ עַל הַמִּזְבֵּחַ סָבִיב. יג וְאֶת הָעֹלָה הִמְצִיאוּ אֵלָיו לִנְתָחֶיהָ וְאֶת הָרֹאשׁ וַיַּקְטֵר עַל הַמִּזְבֵּחַ. יד וַיִּרְחַץ אֶת הַקֶּרֶב וְאֶת הַכְּרָעָיִם וַיַּקְטֵר עַל הָעֹלָה הַמִּזְבֵּחָה. טו וַיַּקְרֵב אֵת קָרְבַּן הָעָם וַיִּקַּח אֶת שְׂעִיר הַחַטָּאת אֲשֶׁר לָעָם וַיִּשְׁחָטֵהוּ וַיְחַטְּאֵהוּ כָּרִאשׁוֹן. טז וַיַּקְרֵב אֶת הָעֹלָה וַיַּעֲשֶׂהָ כַּמִּשְׁפָּט. יזוַיַּקְרֵב אֶת הַמִּנְחָה וַיְמַלֵּא כַפּוֹ מִמֶּנָּה וַיַּקְטֵר עַל הַמִּזְבֵּחַ מִלְּבַד עֹלַת הַבֹּקֶר. יח וַיִּשְׁחַט אֶת הַשּׁוֹר וְאֶת הָאַיִל זֶבַח הַשְּׁלָמִים אֲשֶׁר לָעָם וַיַּמְצִאוּ בְּנֵי אַהֲרֹן אֶת הַדָּם אֵלָיו וַיִּזְרְקֵהוּ עַל הַמִּזְבֵּחַ סָבִיב. יט וְאֶת הַחֲלָבִים מִן הַשּׁוֹר וּמִן הָאַיִל הָאַלְיָה וְהַמְכַסֶּה וְהַכְּלָיֹת וְיֹתֶרֶת הַכָּבֵד. כ וַיָּשִׂימוּ אֶת הַחֲלָבִים עַל הֶחָזוֹת וַיַּקְטֵר הַחֲלָבִים הַמִּזְבֵּחָה. כא וְאֵת הֶחָזוֹת וְאֵת שׁוֹק הַיָּמִין הֵנִיף אַהֲרֹן תְּנוּפָה לִפְנֵי יהוה כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה מֹשֶׁה. כב וַיִּשָּׂא אַהֲרֹן אֶת יָדָו אֶל הָעָם וַיְבָרְכֵם וַיֵּרֶד מֵעֲשֹׂת הַחַטָּאת וְהָעֹלָה וְהַשְּׁלָמִים. כג וַיָּבֹא מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן אֶל אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד וַיֵּצְאוּ וַיְבָרְכוּ אֶת הָעָם וַיֵּרָא כְבוֹד יהוה אֶל כָּל הָעָם. כד וַתֵּצֵא אֵשׁ מִלִּפְנֵי יהוה וַתֹּאכַל עַל הַמִּזְבֵּחַ אֶת הָעֹלָה וְאֶת הַחֲלָבִים וַיַּרְא כָּל הָעָם וַיָּרֹנּוּ וַיִּפְּלוּ עַל פְּנֵיהֶם. |
VaYikra Chapter 10
1 And Nadav and Avihu, the sons of Aharon, took each of them his censer, and put fire therein, and laid incense thereon, and offered strange fire before יהוה , which He had not commanded them. 2 And there came forth fire from before יהוה , and devoured them, and they died before יהוה . Then 3 Moshe said unto Aharon, "This is that which יהוה spoke, saying, 'Through them that are nigh unto Me I will be consecrated, and before all the people I will be glorified'." And Aharon held his peace. 4 And Moshe called Misha'el and El-Tzafan, the sons of Uzi'el the uncle of Aharon, and said unto them, "Draw near, carry your brethren from before HaKodesh out of the camp." 5 So they drew near, and carried them in their tunics out of the camp, as Moshe had said. 6 And Moshe said unto Aharon, and unto Elazar and unto Itamar, his sons, "Let not the hair of your heads be uncovered, neither rend your clothes, that you die not, and that He be not wroth with all the assembly; but let your brethren, all of Beit Yisra'el, bewail the burning which יהוה has kindled. 7 And you shall not go out from the door of the Ohel Mo'ed, lest you die; for the anointing oil of יהוה is upon you." And they did according to the word of Moshe.
8 And יהוה spoke unto Aharon, saying, 9 "Drink no wine nor strong drink, you, nor your sons with you, when you go into the Ohel Mo'ed, that you die not; it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations. 10 And that you may put difference between the kadosh and the common, and between the unclean and the clean; 11 and that you may teach B'nei Yisra'el all the Khukot which יהוה has spoken unto them by the hand of Moshe."

א וַיִּקְחוּ בְנֵי אַהֲרֹן נָדָב וַאֲבִיהוּא אִישׁ מַחְתָּתוֹ וַיִּתְּנוּ בָהֵן אֵשׁ וַיָּשִׂימוּ עָלֶיהָ קְטֹרֶת וַיַּקְרִיבוּ לִפְנֵי יהוה אֵשׁ זָרָה אֲשֶׁר לֹא צִוָּה אֹתָם. ב וַתֵּצֵא אֵשׁ מִלִּפְנֵי יהוה וַתֹּאכַל אוֹתָם וַיָּמֻתוּ לִפְנֵי יהוה . ג וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל אַהֲרֹן הוּא אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יהוה לֵאמֹר בִּקְרֹבַי אֶקָּדֵשׁ וְעַל פְּנֵי כָל הָעָם אֶכָּבֵד וַיִּדֹּם אַהֲרֹן. ד וַיִּקְרָא מֹשֶׁה אֶל מִישָׁאֵל וְאֶל אֶלְצָפָן בְּנֵי עֻזִּיאֵל דֹּד אַהֲרֹן וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵהֶם קִרְבוּ שְׂאוּ אֶת אֲחֵיכֶם מֵאֵת פְּנֵי הַקֹּדֶשׁ אֶל מִחוּץ לַמַּחֲנֶה. ה וַיִּקְרְבוּ וַיִּשָּׂאֻם בְּכֻתֳּנֹתָם אֶל מִחוּץ לַמַּחֲנֶה כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר מֹשֶׁה. ו וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל אַהֲרֹן וּלְאֶלְעָזָר וּלְאִיתָמָר בָּנָיו רָאשֵׁיכֶם אַל תִּפְרָעוּ וּבִגְדֵיכֶם לֹא תִפְרֹמוּ וְלֹא תָמֻתוּ וְעַל כָּל הָעֵדָה יִקְצֹף וַאֲחֵיכֶם כָּל בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל יִבְכּוּ אֶת הַשְּׂרֵפָה אֲשֶׁר שָׂרַף יהוה . ז וּמִפֶּתַח אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד לֹא תֵצְאוּ פֶּן תָּמֻתוּ כִּי שֶׁמֶן מִשְׁחַת יהוה עֲלֵיכֶם וַיַּעֲשׂוּ כִּדְבַר מֹשֶׁה.
ח וַיְדַבֵּר יהוה אֶל אַהֲרֹן לֵאמֹר. ט יַיִן וְשֵׁכָר אַל תֵּשְׁתְּ אַתָּה וּבָנֶיךָ אִתָּךְ בְּבֹאֲכֶם אֶל אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד וְלֹא תָמֻתוּ חֻקַּת עוֹלָם לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶם. י וּלְהַבְדִּיל בֵּין הַקֹּדֶשׁ וּבֵין הַחֹל וּבֵין הַטָּמֵא וּבֵין הַטָּהוֹר. יא וּלְהוֹרֹת אֶת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֵת כָּל הַחֻקִּים אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יהוה אֲלֵיהֶם בְּיַד מֹשֶׁה. |

Shmu'el Bet Chapter 6
1 And David again gathered together all the chosen men of Yisra'el, thirty thousand. 2 And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him, from Ba'alei Yehudah, to bring up from there the Aron HaElohim, whereupon is called the Name, even the Name of יהוה Tzeva'ot that sits upon the Keruvim. 3 And they set the Aron HaElohim upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Avinadav that was in the hill; and Uzah and Akhiyo, the sons of Avinadav, drove the new cart. 4 And they brought it out of the house of Avinadav, which was in the hill, with the Aron HaElohim, and Akhiyo went before the Aron. 5 And David and all Beit Yisra'el played before יהוה with all manner of instruments made of cypress-wood, and with kinorot, and with nevalim, and with timbrels, and with sistra, and with cymbals. 6 And when they came to the threshing-floor of Nakhon, Uzah put forth his hand to the Aron HaElohim, and took hold of it; for the oxen stumbled. 7 And the anger of יהוה was kindled against Uzah; and Elohim smote him there for his error; and there he died by the Aron HaElohim. 8 And David was displeased, because יהוה had broken forth upon Uzah; and that place was called Peretz Uzah, and is unto this day. 9 And David was afraid of יהוה that day; and he said, "How shall the Aron of יהוה come unto me?" 10 So David would not remove the Aron of יהוה unto him into the city of David; but David carried it aside into the house of Oved Edom HaGiti.
11 And the Aron of יהוה remained in the house of Oved Edom HaGiti for three months; and יהוה blessed Oved Edom, and all his house. 12 And it was told to Melekh David, saying, " יהוה has blessed the house of Oved Edom, and all that pertains unto him, because of the Aron HaElohim." And David went and brought up the Aron HaElohim from the house of Oved Edom into the city of David, with joy. 13 And it was so, that when they that bore the Aron of יהוה had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fatling. 14 And David danced before יהוה with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.
15 So David and all the house of Yisra'el brought up the Aron of יהוה with shouting, and with the sound of the shofar. 16 And it was so, as the Aron of יהוה came into the City of David, that Mikhal Bat Sha'ul looked out from the window, and saw Melekh David leaping and dancing before יהוה ; and she despised him in her heart. 17 And they brought in the Aron of יהוה , and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it; and David offered Olot and Sh'lamim offerings before יהוה . And 18 when David had made an end of offering the Olot and Sh'lamim offerings, he blessed the people in the Name of יהוה Tzeva'ot. 19 And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Yisra'el, both to men and women, to every one a cake of bread, and a cake made in a pan, and a sweet cake. So all the people departed, every one to his house. 20 Then David returned to bless his household.
And Mikhal Bat Sha'ul came out to meet David, and said, "How did HaMelekh Yisra'el get him honor today, who uncovered himself today in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!" 21 And David said unto Mikhal, "Before יהוה , who chose me above your father, and above all his house, to appoint me prince over the people of יהוה , over Yisra'el, before יהוה will I make merry. 22 And I will be yet more vile than this, and will be base in my own sight; and with the handmaids whom you have spoken of, with them will I get me honor." 23 And Mikhal Bat Sha'ul had no child unto the day of her death.

א וַיֹּסֶף עוֹד דָּוִד אֶת כָּל בָּחוּר בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל שְׁלֹשִׁים אָלֶף. ב וַיָּקָם וַיֵּלֶךְ דָּוִד וְכָל הָעָם אֲשֶׁר אִתּוֹ מִבַּעֲלֵי יְהוּדָה לְהַעֲלוֹת מִשָּׁם אֵת אֲרוֹן הָאֱלֹהִים אֲשֶׁר נִקְרָא שֵׁם שֵׁם יהוה צְבָאוֹת יֹשֵׁב הַכְּרֻבִים עָלָיו. ג וַיַּרְכִּבוּ אֶת אֲרוֹן הָאֱלֹהִים אֶל עֲגָלָה חֲדָשָׁה וַיִּשָּׂאֻהוּ מִבֵּית אֲבִינָדָב אֲשֶׁר בַּגִּבְעָה; וְעֻזָּא וְאַחְיוֹ בְּנֵי אֲבִינָדָב נֹהֲגִים אֶת הָעֲגָלָה חֲדָשָׁה. ד וַיִּשָּׂאֻהוּ מִבֵּית אֲבִינָדָב אֲשֶׁר בַּגִּבְעָה עִם אֲרוֹן הָאֱלֹהִים; וְאַחְיוֹ הֹלֵךְ לִפְנֵי הָאָרוֹן. ה וְדָוִד וְכָל בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל מְשַׂחֲקִים לִפְנֵי יהוה בְּכֹל עֲצֵי בְרוֹשִׁים; וּבְכִנֹּרוֹת וּבִנְבָלִים וּבְתֻפִּים וּבִמְנַעַנְעִים וּבְצֶלְצֱלִים. ו וַיָּבֹאוּ עַד גֹּרֶן נָכוֹן; וַיִּשְׁלַח עֻזָּה אֶל אֲרוֹן הָאֱלֹהִים וַיֹּאחֶז בּוֹ כִּי שָׁמְטוּ הַבָּקָר. ז וַיִּחַר אַף יהוה בְּעֻזָּה וַיַּכֵּהוּ שָׁם הָאֱלֹהִים עַל הַשַּׁל; וַיָּמָת שָׁם עִם אֲרוֹן הָאֱלֹהִים. ח וַיִּחַר לְדָוִד עַל אֲשֶׁר פָּרַץ יהוה פֶּרֶץ בְּעֻזָּה; וַיִּקְרָא לַמָּקוֹם הַהוּא פֶּרֶץ עֻזָּה עַד הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה. ט וַיִּרָא דָוִד אֶת יהוה בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא; וַיֹּאמֶר אֵיךְ יָבוֹא אֵלַי אֲרוֹן יהוה . י וְלֹא אָבָה דָוִד לְהָסִיר אֵלָיו אֶת אֲרוֹן יהוה עַל עִיר דָּוִד; וַיַּטֵּהוּ דָוִד בֵּית עֹבֵד אֱדֹם הַגִּתִּי.
יא וַיֵּשֶׁב אֲרוֹן יהוה בֵּית עֹבֵד אֱדֹם הַגִּתִּי שְׁלֹשָׁה חֳדָשִׁים; וַיְבָרֶךְ יהוה אֶת עֹבֵד אֱדֹם וְאֶת כָּל בֵּיתוֹ. יב וַיֻּגַּד לַמֶּלֶךְ דָּוִד לֵאמֹר בֵּרַךְ יהוה אֶת בֵּית עֹבֵד אֱדֹם וְאֶת כָּל אֲשֶׁר לוֹ בַּעֲבוּר אֲרוֹן הָאֱלֹהִים; וַיֵּלֶךְ דָּוִד וַיַּעַל אֶת אֲרוֹן הָאֱלֹהִים מִבֵּית עֹבֵד אֱדֹם עִיר דָּוִד בְּשִׂמְחָה. יג וַיְהִי כִּי צָעֲדוּ נֹשְׂאֵי אֲרוֹן יהוה שִׁשָּׁה צְעָדִים: וַיִּזְבַּח שׁוֹר וּמְרִיא. יד וְדָוִד מְכַרְכֵּר בְּכָל עֹז לִפְנֵי יהוה ; וְדָוִד חָגוּר אֵפוֹד בָּד.
טו וְדָוִד וְכָל בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל מַעֲלִים אֶת אֲרוֹן יהוה בִּתְרוּעָה וּבְקוֹל שׁוֹפָר. טז וְהָיָה אֲרוֹן יהוה בָּא עִיר דָּוִד; וּמִיכַל בַּת שָׁאוּל נִשְׁקְפָה בְּעַד הַחַלּוֹן וַתֵּרֶא אֶת הַמֶּלֶךְ דָּוִד מְפַזֵּז וּמְכַרְכֵּר לִפְנֵי יהוה וַתִּבֶז לוֹ בְּלִבָּהּ. יז וַיָּבִאוּ אֶת אֲרוֹן יהוה וַיַּצִּגוּ אֹתוֹ בִּמְקוֹמוֹ בְּתוֹךְ הָאֹהֶל אֲשֶׁר נָטָה לוֹ דָּוִד; וַיַּעַל דָּוִד עֹלוֹת לִפְנֵי יהוה וּשְׁלָמִים. יח וַיְכַל דָּוִד מֵהַעֲלוֹת הָעוֹלָה וְהַשְּׁלָמִים; וַיְבָרֶךְ אֶת הָעָם בְּשֵׁם יהוה צְבָאוֹת. יט וַיְחַלֵּק לְכָל הָעָם לְכָל הֲמוֹן יִשְׂרָאֵל לְמֵאִישׁ וְעַד אִשָּׁה לְאִישׁ חַלַּת לֶחֶם אַחַת וְאֶשְׁפָּר אֶחָד וַאֲשִׁישָׁה אֶחָת; וַיֵּלֶךְ כָּל הָעָם אִישׁ לְבֵיתוֹ. כ וַיָּשָׁב דָּוִד לְבָרֵךְ אֶת בֵּיתוֹ.
וַתֵּצֵא מִיכַל בַּת שָׁאוּל לִקְרַאת דָּוִד וַתֹּאמֶר מַה נִּכְבַּד הַיּוֹם מֶלֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר נִגְלָה הַיּוֹם לְעֵינֵי אַמְהוֹת עֲבָדָיו כְּהִגָּלוֹת נִגְלוֹת אַחַד הָרֵקִים. כא וַיֹּאמֶר דָּוִד אֶל מִיכַל לִפְנֵי יהוה אֲשֶׁר בָּחַר בִּי מֵאָבִיךְ וּמִכָּל בֵּיתוֹ לְצַוֹּת אֹתִי נָגִיד עַל עַם יהוה עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל; וְשִׂחַקְתִּי לִפְנֵי יהוה . כב וּנְקַלֹּתִי עוֹד מִזֹּאת וְהָיִיתִי שָׁפָל בְּעֵינָי; וְעִם הָאֲמָהוֹת אֲשֶׁר אָמַרְתְּ עִמָּם אִכָּבֵדָה. כג וּלְמִיכַל בַּת שָׁאוּל לֹא הָיָה לָהּ יָלֶד עַד יוֹם מוֹתָהּ. |
Shmu'el Bet Chapter 7
1 And it came to pass, when HaMelekh dwelt in his house, and יהוה had given him rest from all his enemies round about, 2 that HaMelekh said unto Natan HaNavi, "See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the Aron HaElohim dwells within curtains." 3 And Natan said to HaMelekh, "Go, do all that is in your heart; for יהוה is with you." 4 And it came to pass the same night, that the D'var יהוה came unto Natan, saying, 5 "Go and tell My servant David, 'Thus says יהוה , 'Shall you build a house for Me to dwell in? 6 For I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up B'nei Yisra'el out of Mitzrayim, even to this day, but have walked in an Ohel and in a Mishkan. 7 In all places wherein I have walked among all B'nei Yisra'el, did I speak a word with any of the tribes of Yisra'el, whom I commanded to feed My people Yisra'el, saying, 'Why have you not built Me a house of cedar?'' 8 Now, therefore, this you shall say unto My servant David, 'This is what יהוה Tzeva'ot says: 'I took you from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, that you should be prince over My people, over Yisra'el. 9 And I have been with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies from before you; and I will make you a great name, like unto the name of the great ones that are in the earth. 10 And I will appoint a place for My people Yisra'el, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place, and be disquieted no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as at the first, 11 even from the day that I commanded judges to be over My people Yisra'el; and I will cause you to rest from all your enemies. Moreover, יהוה tells you that יהוה will make you a house. 12 When your days are fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, that shall proceed out of your body, and I will establish his Malkhut. 13 He shall build a house for My Name, and I will establish the throne of his Malkhut forever. 14 I will be to him for a father, and he shall be to Me for a son; if he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men; 15 but My compassion shall not depart from him, as I took it from Sha'ul, whom I put away before you. 16 And your house and your Malkhut shall be made sure forever before you; your throne shall be established forever'." 17 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Natan speak unto David. | שְׁמוּאֵל ב פרק ז
א וַיְהִי כִּי יָשַׁב הַמֶּלֶךְ בְּבֵיתוֹ; וַיהוה הֵנִיחַ לוֹ מִסָּבִיב מִכָּל אֹיְבָיו. ב וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶל נָתָן הַנָּבִיא רְאֵה נָא אָנֹכִי יוֹשֵׁב בְּבֵית אֲרָזִים; וַאֲרוֹן הָאֱלֹהִים יֹשֵׁב בְּתוֹךְ הַיְרִיעָה. ג וַיֹּאמֶר נָתָן אֶל הַמֶּלֶךְ כֹּל אֲשֶׁר בִּלְבָבְךָ לֵךְ עֲשֵׂה: כִּי יהוה עִמָּךְ. ד וַיְהִי בַּלַּיְלָה הַהוּא; וַיְהִי דְּבַר יהוה אֶל נָתָן לֵאמֹר. ה לֵךְ וְאָמַרְתָּ אֶל עַבְדִּי אֶל דָּוִד כֹּה אָמַר יהוה : הַאַתָּה תִּבְנֶה לִּי בַיִת לְשִׁבְתִּי. ו כִּי לֹא יָשַׁבְתִּי בְּבַיִת לְמִיּוֹם הַעֲלֹתִי אֶת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מִמִּצְרַיִם וְעַד הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה; וָאֶהְיֶה מִתְהַלֵּךְ בְּאֹהֶל וּבְמִשְׁכָּן. ז בְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר הִתְהַלַּכְתִּי בְּכָל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הֲדָבָר דִּבַּרְתִּי אֶת אַחַד שִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר צִוִּיתִי לִרְעוֹת אֶת עַמִּי אֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל לֵאמֹר: לָמָּה לֹא בְנִיתֶם לִי בֵּית אֲרָזִים. ח וְעַתָּה כֹּה תֹאמַר לְעַבְדִּי לְדָוִד כֹּה אָמַר יהוה צְבָאוֹת אֲנִי לְקַחְתִּיךָ מִן הַנָּוֶה מֵאַחַר הַצֹּאן לִהְיוֹת נָגִיד עַל עַמִּי עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל. ט וָאֶהְיֶה עִמְּךָ בְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר הָלַכְתָּ וָאַכְרִתָה אֶת כָּל אֹיְבֶיךָ מִפָּנֶיךָ; וְעָשִׂתִי לְךָ שֵׁם גָּדוֹל כְּשֵׁם הַגְּדֹלִים אֲשֶׁר בָּאָרֶץ. י וְשַׂמְתִּי מָקוֹם לְעַמִּי לְיִשְׂרָאֵל וּנְטַעְתִּיו וְשָׁכַן תַּחְתָּיו וְלֹא יִרְגַּז עוֹד; וְלֹא יֹסִיפוּ בְנֵי עַוְלָה לְעַנּוֹתוֹ כַּאֲשֶׁר בָּרִאשׁוֹנָה. יא וּלְמִן הַיּוֹם אֲשֶׁר צִוִּיתִי שֹׁפְטִים עַל עַמִּי יִשְׂרָאֵל וַהֲנִיחֹתִי לְךָ מִכָּל אֹיְבֶיךָ; וְהִגִּיד לְךָ יהוה כִּי בַיִת יַעֲשֶׂה לְּךָ יהוה . יב כִּי יִמְלְאוּ יָמֶיךָ וְשָׁכַבְתָּ אֶת אֲבֹתֶיךָ וַהֲקִימֹתִי אֶת זַרְעֲךָ אַחֲרֶיךָ אֲשֶׁר יֵצֵא מִמֵּעֶיךָ; וַהֲכִינֹתִי אֶת מַמְלַכְתּוֹ. יג הוּא יִבְנֶה בַּיִת לִשְׁמִי; וְכֹנַנְתִּי אֶת כִּסֵּא מַמְלַכְתּוֹ עַד עוֹלָם. יד אֲנִי אֶהְיֶה לּוֹ לְאָב וְהוּא יִהְיֶה לִּי לְבֵן אֲשֶׁר בְּהַעֲוֹתוֹ וְהֹכַחְתִּיו בְּשֵׁבֶט אֲנָשִׁים וּבְנִגְעֵי בְּנֵי אָדָם. טו וְחַסְדִּי לֹא יָסוּר מִמֶּנּוּ כַּאֲשֶׁר הֲסִרֹתִי מֵעִם שָׁאוּל אֲשֶׁר הֲסִרֹתִי מִלְּפָנֶיךָ. טז וְנֶאְמַן בֵּיתְךָ וּמַמְלַכְתְּךָ עַד עוֹלָם לְפָנֶיךָ: כִּסְאֲךָ יִהְיֶה נָכוֹן עַד עוֹלָם. יז כְּכֹל הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וּכְכֹל הַחִזָּיוֹן הַזֶּה כֵּן דִּבֶּר נָתָן אֶל דָּוִד. |

Yokhanan Markos Chapter 7
1 Then there gathered to Him P’rushim and Sofrim who had come from Yerushalayim. 2 And they saw some of His Talmidim eating bread with their hands unwashed, and they reproached them. 3 For all the Y’hudim and the P’rushim, unless their hands were washed carefully, would not eat, because they strictly observed the tradition of the elders. 4 Even the things from the market, if they were not washed, they would not eat. And there are a great many other things which they have accepted to obey, such as the washing of cups and pots and copper utensils, and the beddings of dead men. 5 And the Sofrim and P’rushim asked Him, “Why do your Talmidim not walk according to the traditions of the elders, but eat bread with their hands unwashed?” 6 He said to them, “The Navi Yesha-Yahu well prophesied about you, O hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honor me with their lips, but their heart is far away from me. 7 And they worship me in vain when they teach as doctrines the commandments of men.' 8 For you have ignored the mitzvah of Elohim, and you observe the tradition of men, such as the washing of cups and pots and a great many other things like these.” 9 He said to them, “You certainly do injustice to the mitzvah of Elohim so as to sustain your own tradition. 10 For Moshe said, ‘Honor your father and your mother;' and, ‘he who curses father or mother, let him die the death.' 11 But you say a man may say to his father or his mother, ‘What is left over is Karbani;' 12 and yet you do not let him do anything for his father or mother. 13 So you dishonor the D'var HaElohim for the sake of the tradition which you have established; and you do a great many other things like these.” 14 Then Yeshua called all the people and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand. 15 There is nothing outside of a man, if it should enter into him, which can defile him; but what goes out of him, that defiles the man. 16 He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” 17 When Yeshua entered into the house because of the people, His Talmidim asked Him concerning that mashal. 18 And He said to them, “So even you find it hard to understand? Do you not know that whatever enters into a man from outside cannot defile him? 19 Because it does not enter into his heart, but into his stomach, and then is thrown out through the intestines, thereby purifying the food. 20 It is what goes out of man which defiles the man. 21 For from within, from the hearts of men come evil thoughts, such as fornication, adultery, theft, murder, 22 extortion, wickedness, deceit, lust, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness; 23 all these evils come from within, and they defile the man.” | יוחנן מרקוס פרק ז
א וְהִתקַהֲלוּ אֵלָיו פְּרוּשִׁים וְסוֹפְרִים שֶׁבָּאוּ מִירוּשָׁלַיִם. ב וְרָאוּ הֵם אֲחָדִים מִתַּלְמִידָיו שֶׁאוֹכְלִים לֶחֶם וִידֵיהֶם בִּלְתִּי רְחוּצוֹת, וְהוֹכִיחוּ אוֹתָם; ג שֶׁכֵּן כָּל הַיְּהוּדִים וְהַפְּרוּשִׁים אִם אֵינָם רוֹחֲצִים יְדֵיהֶם בְּהַקְפָּדָה, אֵינָם אוֹכְלִים; כִּי מַחֲזִיקִים הֵם בְּמָסֹרֶת הַזְּקֵנִים ד וּמִן הַשּׁוּק אִם אֵינָם טוֹבְלִים אֵינָם אוֹכְלִים. וְיֵשׁ דְּבָרִים רַבִּים אֲחֵרִים שֶׁקִּבְּלוּ לִשְׁמֹר: טְבִילַת כּוֹסוֹת וְסִירִים וּכְלֵי נְחֹשֶׁת וּמִטּוֹת. ה וּשְׁאָלוּהוּ הַסּוֹפְרִים וְהַפְּרוּשִׁים: מַדּוּעַ אֵין תַּלְמִידֶיךָ נוֹהֲגִים לְפִי מָסֹרֶת הַזְּקֵנִים, אֶלָּא אוֹכְלִים לֶחֶם וִידֵיהֶם בִּלְתִּי רְחוּצוֹת? ו וְהוּא אָמַר לָהֶם: מַעֲמִידֵי פָּנִים, הֵיטֵב נִבָּא עֲלֵיכֶם יְשַׁעְיָהוּ הַנָּבִיא, כַּכָּתוּב: 'הָעָם הַזֶּה בִּשְׂפָתָיו כִּבְּדוּנִי וְלִבּוֹ רִחַק מְאֹד מִמֶּנִּי. ז וְלַשָּׁוְא יְרֵאִים אוֹתִי, בְּלַמְּדָם לִמּוּדֵי מִצְווֹת שֶׁל בְּנֵי אָדָם'; ח כִּי עֲזַבְתֶּם אֶת מִצְוַת אֱלֹהִים וּמַחֲזִיקִים אַתֶּם בְּמָסֹרֶת בְּנֵי אָדָם, טְבִילַת כּוֹסוֹת וְסִירִים, וּדְבָרִים רַבִּים דּוֹמִים לְאֵלֶּה. ט אָמַר לָהֶם: יָפֶה מְפִירִים אַתֶּם אֶת מִצְוַת אֱלֹהִים כְּדֵי לְקַיֵּם אֶת מָסָרְתְּכֶם! י שֶׁכֵּן מֹשֶׁה אָמַר 'כַּבֵּד אֶת אָבִיךָ וְאֶת אִמֶּךָ וּמְקַלֵּל אָבִיו וְאִמּוֹ מוֹת יוּמָת', יא אֲבָל אַתֶּם אוֹמְרִים 'אִם יֹאמַר אִישׁ לְאָבִיו אוֹ לְאִמּוֹ, קָרְבָּנִי מַה שֶּׁתַּרְוִיחַ מִמֶּנִּי'; יב וְאֵינְכֶם מַנִּיחִים לוֹ לַעֲשׂוֹת מְאוּמָה לְמַעַן אָבִיו אוֹ אִמּוֹ, יג וְדוֹחִים אַתֶּם אֶת דְּבַר אֱלֹהִים בִּגְלַל מָסָרְתְּכֶם שֶׁמְּסַרְתֶּם; וּדְבָרִים רַבִּים דּוֹמִים לְאֵלֶּה עוֹשִׂים אַתֶּם. יד וְקָרָא יֵשׁוּעַ לְכָל הֶהָמוֹן וְאָמַר לָהֶם: שֶׁמָעוּנִי כֻּלְּכֶם וְהָבִינוּ. טו אֵין דָּבָר שֶׁמִּחוּץ לָאָדָם וְנִכְנַס בּוֹ שֶׁיָּכוֹל לְטַמֵּא אוֹתוֹ, אֶלָּא מַה שֶּׁיּוֹצֵא מִמֶּנּוּ הוּא הַמְטַמֵּא אֶת הָאָדָם. טז מִי שֶׁיֵּשׁ לוֹ אָזְנַיִם לִשְׁמֹעַ, יִשְׁמַע. יז וְכַאֲשֶׁר נִכְנַס יֵשׁוּעַ הַבַּיְתָה מִן הֶהָמוֹן, שְׁאָלוּהוּ תַּלְמִידָיו עַל הַמָּשָׁל הַהוּא. יח אָמַר לָהֶם: הֲכִי אַף אַתֶּם קְשֵׁי הֲבָנָה? הַאֵינְכֶם יוֹדְעִים כִּי כָּל מַה שֶּׁמִּבַּחוּץ נִכְנָס לְתוֹךְ הָאָדָם אֵינוֹ יָכוֹל לְטַמֵּא אוֹתוֹ? יט כִּי לֹא אֶל לִבּוֹ נִכְנָס, אֶלָּא אֶל כְּרֵסוֹ, וּמוּטָל בַּטִּהוּר הַמְטַהֵר אֶת כָּל הָאֹכֶל. כ אֲבָל מַה שֶּׁיּוֹצֵא מִן הָאָדָם הוּא הַמְטַמֵּא אֶת הָאָדָם; כא כִּי מִבִּפְנִים, מִלֵּב בְּנֵי הָאָדָם, יוֹצְאוֹת מַחֲשָׁבוֹת רָעוֹת, נִאוּף, זְנוּת, גְּנֵבָה, רֶצַח, כב חָמָס, רִשְׁעָה, רְמִיָּה, זִמָּה, עַיִן רָעָה, גִּדּוּף, גַּאֲוָה, סִכְלוּת. כג כָּל הָרָעוֹת הָאֵלֶּה מִבִּפְנִים הֵו יוֹצְאוֹת וּמְטַמְּאוֹת אֶת הָאָדָם. |
Yokhanan Markos Chapter 9
1 And He said to them, “Truly I say to you that there are men standing here who shall not taste death until they see that Malkhut HaElohim has come with power.” 2 And six days after, Yeshua took Kefa and Ya’akov and Yokhanan, and brought them up to a high mountain alone; and He was transfigured before their eyes. 3 His clothes shone and became white like snow in such a manner that men on earth cannot make white. 4 And there appeared to them Moshe and Eli-Yahu, talking with Yeshua. 5 And Kefa said to Him, “Rabbi, it is better for us to remain here; and let us make three sukkot, one for You, and one for Moshe, and one for Eli-Yahu.” 6 For he did not know what he was saying, for they were afraid. 7 And there was a cloud overshadowing them, and a voice out of the cloud said, “This is my Ben HaAhuv; hear Him.” 8 And suddenly, when the Talmidim looked around, they saw no man except Yeshua alone with them. 9 And as they came down from the mountain, He commanded them not to tell any man what they had seen until Ben HaAdam had risen from the dead. 10 So they kept that saying to themselves, and they wanted to know from Him what ‘risen from the dead' meant. 11 And they asked Him, saying, “Why then do the Sofrim say that Eli-Yahu must first come?” 12 He said to them, “Eli-Yahu does come first, to prepare everything, and as it is written concerning Ben HaAdam, that he will suffer much and be rejected. 13 But I say to you that Eli-Yahu has come, and they did with him whatever they pleased, as it is written of him.” | יוחנן מרקוס פרק ט
א וְאָמַר לָהֶם: אָמֵן אוֹמֵר אֲנִי לָכֶם, יֵשׁ אֲנָשִׁים הָעוֹמְדִים כָּאן שֶׁלֹּא יִטְעֲמוּ מָוֶת עַד אֲשֶׁר יִרְאוּ אֶת מַלְכוּת הָאֱלֹהִים בָּאָה בִּגְבוּרָה. ב וְאַחֲרֵי שִׁשָּׁה יָמִים לָקַח יֵשׁוּעַ אֶת כֵּיפָא וְאֶת יַעֲקֹב וְאֶת יוֹחָנָן, וְהֶעֱלָה אוֹתָם לְהַר גָּבוֹהַּ לְבַדָּם וְהִשְׁתַּנָּה לְעֵינֵיהֶם; ג וְנִהְיָה לְבוּשׁוֹ זוֹהֵר וּמֻלְבָּן מְאֹד, כַּשֶּׁלֶג, בְּאֹפֶן אֲשֶׁר בְּנֵי אָדָם אֵינָם יְכוֹלִים לְהַלְבִּין עַל הָאָרֶץ. ד וְנִרְאוּ אֲלֵיהֶם מֹשֶׁה וְאֵלִיָּהוּ וְהֵם מְדַבְּרִים עִם יֵשׁוּעַ. ה וְאָמַר לוֹ כֵּיפָא: רַבִּי, טוֹב לָנוּ לִהְיוֹת כָּאן; וְנַעֲשֶׂה שָׁלוֹשׁ סֻכּוֹת, לְךָ אַחַת, וּלְמֹשֶׁה אַחַת וּלְאֵלִיָּהוּ אַחַת. ו וְלֹא יָדַע מַה הוּא אוֹמֵר, כִּי הָיוּ בְּפַחַד. ז וְהָיָה עָנָן וְסוֹכֵךְ הָיָה עֲלֵיהֶם, וְקוֹל הָיָה מִן הֶעָנָן, אוֹמֵר: זֶהוּ בְּנִי הָאָהוּב; אֵלָיו שִׁמְעוּ. ח וּפִתְאוֹם כְּשֶׁהִבִּיטוּ הַתַּלְמִידִים, לֹא רָאוּ אִישׁ אֶלָּא אֶת יֵשׁוּעַ לְבַדּוֹ עִמָּהֶם. ט וּבְרִדְתָּם מִן הָהָר, צִוָּה עֲלֵיהֶם שֶׁלֹּא יֹאמְרוּ לְאִישׁ מַה שֶּׁרָאוּ, אֶלָּא כַּאֲשֶׁר יָקוּם בֶּן הָאָדָם מִן הַמֵּתִים. י וְהֶחֱזִיקוּ אֶת הַדָּבָר בְּלִבָּם וְחָקְרוּ מַהוּ הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה, כַּאֲשֶׁר יָקוּם מִבֵּין הַמֵּתִים. יא וְשָׁאֲלוּ אוֹתוֹ וְאָמְרוּ: מַדּוּעַ אֵפוֹא אוֹמְרִים הַסּוֹפְרִים שֶׁאֵלִיָּהוּ צָרִיךְ לָבוֹא תְּחִלָּה? יב אָמַר לָהֶם: אֵלִיָּהוּ יָבוֹא תְּחִלָּה לְיַשֵּׁיב כָּל דָּבָר; וְכַכָּתוּב עַל בֶּן הָאָדָם, שֶׁיִּסְבֹּל הַרְבֵּה וְיִדָּחֶה. יג אֲבָל אוֹמֵר אֲנִי לָכֶם, שֶׁגַּם אֵלִיָּהוּ בָּא וְעָשׂוּ בּוֹ כָּל מַה שֶּׁרָצוּ, כַּכָּתוּב עָלָיו. |
