B'reshit Chapter 47
28 And Ya'akov lived in the land of Mitzrayim seventeen years; so the days of Ya'akov, the years of his life, were a hundred and forty-seven years. 29 And the time drew near that Yisra'el must die; and he called his son Yosef, and said unto him, "If now I have found favor in your sight, put, I pray, your hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me; bury me not, I pray, in Mitzrayim. 30 But when I sleep with my fathers, you shall carry me out of Mitzrayim, and bury me in their burying-place." And he said, "I will do as you have said." 31 And he said, "Swear unto me." And he swore unto him. And Yisra'el bowed down upon the bed’s head.

B'reshit Chapter 48
1 And it came to pass after these things, that one said to Yosef, "Behold, your father is sick." And he took with him his two sons, Menasheh and Efrayim. 2 And one told Ya'akov, and said, "Behold, your son Yosef comes unto you." And Yisra'el strengthened himself, and sat upon the bed. 3 And Ya'akov said unto Yosef, "El Shadai appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Kena'an, and blessed me, 4 and said unto me, 'Behold, I will make you fruitful, and multiply you, and I will make of you a company of peoples; and will give this land to your seed after you for an everlasting possession." 5 And now your two sons, who were born unto you in the land of Mitzrayim before I came unto you into Mitzrayim, are mine; Efrayim and Menasheh, even as Re'uven and Shimon, shall be mine. 6 And your issue, that you beget after them, shall be yours; they shall be called after the name of their brethren in their inheritance. 7 And as for me, when I came from Padan, Rakhel died unto me in the land of Kena'an in the way, when there was still some way to come unto Efrat; and I buried her there in the way to Efrat, the same is Beit Lekhem." 8 And Yisra'el beheld Yosef’s sons, and said, "Who are these?" 9 And Yosef said unto his father, "They are my sons, whom Elohim has given me here." And he said, "Bring them, I pray, unto me, and I will bless them." 10 Now the eyes of Yisra'el were dim for age, so that he could not see. And he brought them near unto him; and he kissed them, and embraced them. 11 And Yisra'el said unto Yosef, "I had not thought to see your face; and, lo, Elohim has let me see your seed also." 12 And Yosef brought them out from between his knees; and he fell down on his face to the earth. 13 And Yosef took them both, Efrayim in his right hand toward Yisra'el’s left hand, and Menasheh in his left hand toward Yisra'el’s right hand, and brought them near unto him. 14 And Yisra'el stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Efrayim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Menasheh’s head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Menasheh was the firstborn. 15 And he blessed Yosef, and said, "The Elohim before whom my fathers Avraham and Yitz'khak did walk, the Elohim who has been my shepherd all my life long unto this day, 16 the Malakh who has redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named in them, and the name of my fathers Avraham and Yitz'khak; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the land." 17 And when Yosef saw that his father was laying his right hand upon the head of Efrayim, it displeased him, and he held up his father’s hand, to remove it from Efrayim’s head unto Menasheh’s head. 18 And Yosef said unto his father, "Not so, my father, for this is the firstborn; put your right hand upon his head." 19 And his father refused, and said, "I know it, my son, I know it; he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great; howbeit his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall be full among the nations." 20 And he blessed them that day, saying, "By you shall Yisra'el bless, saying, Elohim make you as Efrayim and as Menasheh." And he set Efrayim before Menasheh. 21 And Yisra'el said unto Yosef, "Behold, I die; but Elohim will be with you, and bring you back unto the land of your fathers. 22 Moreover I have given to you one portion above your brethren, which I took out of the hand of the Amori with my sword and with my bow."

HAFTARAH

Melakhim Alef Chapter 2
1 Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Shlomo his son, saying, 2 "I go the way of all the earth; be strong therefore, and show yourself a man; 3 and keep the charge of יהוה your Elohim, to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, and His Mitzvot, and His ordinances, and His testimonies, according to that which is written in the Torah of Moshe, that you may prosper in all that you do, and wherever you turn yourself; 4 that יהוה may establish His word which He spoke concerning me, saying, 'If your children take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail you', said He, 'a man on the throne of Yisra'el'. 5 Moreover you know also what Yo'av Ben Tz'ru-Yah did unto me, even what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Yisra'el, unto Avner Ben Ner and unto Amasa Ben Yeter, whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in shalom, and put the blood of war upon his girdle that was about his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet. 6 Do therefore according to your wisdom, and let not his gray head go down to the grave in shalom. 7 But show kindness unto the sons of Barzilai HaGiladi, and let them be of those that eat at your table; for so they drew nigh unto me when I fled from Avshalom your brother. 8 And, behold, there is with you Shimi Ben Gera, the Binyamini, of Bakhurim, who cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Makhanayim; but he came down to meet me at the Yarden, and I swore to him by יהוה , saying, 'I will not put you to death with the sword'. 9 Now therefore hold him not guiltless, for you are a wise man; and you will know what you ought to do unto him, and you shall bring his gray head down to the grave with blood." 10 And David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.
11 And the days that David reigned over Yisra'el were forty years: seven years he reigned in Khevron, and thirty-three years he reigned in Yerushalayim. 12 And Shlomo sat upon the throne of David his father; and his Melukhah was established firmly.

Luka Chapter 4
31 And He went down to K’far Nakhum, a city of the Galil, and He taught them on each Shabbat. 32 And they were astonished at His teaching, because His word had power. 33 And there was in the Beit K’nesset a man who had an unclean, demonic spirit, and he cried in a loud voice, 34 saying, “Let me alone; what have we in common, O Yeshua HaNatzri? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, Kadosh HaElohim!” 35 And Yeshua rebuked him, saying, “Keep quiet, and come out of him.” The demon threw him in the midst and went out of him, and did him no harm. 36 And every man was seized with amazement, and the people spoke among themselves, saying, “What kind of word is this, that He commands unclean spirits with authority and power, and they go out!” 37 And the fame about Him went out through all the country around them. 38 And when Yeshua left the Beit K’nesset, He entered the house of Shimon. And Shimon’s mother-in-law was suffering with a severe fever, and they besought Him for her. 39 And He stood by her and rebuked the fever, and it left her; and she rose up immediately and ministered to them. 40 When the sun was setting, all who had sick people suffering from various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid his hand on each one of them and healed them. 41 Demons also came out of many, who cried out saying, “You are the Mashi'akh, Ben HaElohim.” And He rebuked them, and would not allow them to speak, that people might not know that He was the Mashi'akh. 42 And in the morning He came out and went to a desert place, and the people were looking for Him, and came where He was; and they held Him so that He might not leave them. 43 But Yeshua said to them, “I must declare Malkhut HaElohim in other cities also, because I was sent for this.” 44 And He declared in the Beit K’nessets of the Galil.

Luka Chapter 5
1 It came to pass when the people gathered around Him to hear the D'var HaElohim, He stood on the shore of the lake of Ginesar. 2 And He saw two boats standing by the lake, but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets. 3 One of them belonged to Shimon Kefa, so Yeshua went up and sat in it, and He asked to row it a little way from the shore to the water. And He sat and taught the people from the boat. 4 When He was through speaking, He said to Shimon, “Row out to the deep, and cast your net for a catch.” 5 Shimon answered, saying to Him, “Rabbi, we have toiled all night and have caught nothing; but just because of your word, I will cast the net.” 6 And when they had done this, they snared a great many fish, and their net was breaking. 7 So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And when they came, they filled both the boats until they were almost sinking. 8 When Shimon Kefa saw it, he fell at the feet of Yeshua and said to Him, “I beg you, My Adon, leave me alone, for I am a sinful man.” 9 For he was amazed, and all who were with him, because of the catch of fish which they took. 10 So also was it with Ya’akov and Yokhanan, sons of Zavdai, who were partners with Shimon. But Yeshua said to Shimon, “Do not be afraid; from henceforth you will be catching men unto life.” 11 And they brought the boats to land, and left everything and followed Him.

17 And if you call on HaAv, who is impartial and who judges every man according to his works, conduct yourselves reverently during the time of your sojourning here, 18 knowing that you have not been redeemed from your empty works which you have received from your fathers by corruptible silver and gold, 19 but with the precious blood of HaSeh, without blemish and without spot, which is Mashi'akh, 20 who truly was foreordained for this very purpose before the foundation of the world, and was manifest in these last times for your sakes, 21 who, by Him you trust in Elohim, who raised Him up from the dead and gave Him glory, that your absolute trust and hope might rest on Elohim. 22 Let your souls be consecrated by obedience to the truth, and be filled with sincere love, so that you may love one another with pure and perfect hearts, 23 being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, in His D’var HaKhai, which abides forever. 24 For all flesh is as grass, and all its glory is as the flower of the field. The grass withers and the flower fades away, 25 but the D'var Eloheinu endures forever. And this is HaDavar which has been declared to you.

Kefa Alef Chapter 2
11 My beloved ones, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from carnal desires, which war against the soul; 12 and let your conduct be good before all men, so that those who speak evil words against you may see your good works and glorify Elohim at the day of trial.
13 Submit yourselves to all human authority for the sake of Elohim, whether it is to kings because of their power, 14 or to judges, because from them officers are sent to punish offenders and to bestow honor on those who do good. 15 For such is the will of Elohim, that by your good works you may silence the mouths of foolish men who know not Elohim. 16 Act as free men; not as men who use their liberty as a cloak for their maliciousness, but as the servants of Elohim. 17 Honor all men. Love your brethren. Fear Elohim. Honor the king.

Ivrim Chapter 11
21 By Emunah Ya’akov, when he was dying, blessed both of the sons of Yosef, and he worshipped, leaning upon the end of his staff. 22 By Emunah, Yosef, when he died, made mention of the departure of B'nei Yisra’el, and gave commandment concerning his bones.
