BaMidbar Chapter 25
10 And יהוה spoke unto Moshe, saying, 11 "Pin'khas Ben El Azar, Ben Aharon, the kohen, has turned My wrath away from B'nei Yisra'el, in that he was very jealous for My sake among them, so that I consumed not B'nei Yisra'el in My jealousy. 12 Therefore say, 'Behold, I give unto him My Brit Shalom'; 13 and it shall be unto him, and to his seed after him, the covenant of an everlasting kehunah; because he was jealous for his Elohim, and made atonement for B'nei Yisra'el." 14 Now the name of the man of Yisra'el that was slain, who was slain with the Midyanit woman, was Zimri Ben Salu, a prince of a fathers' house among the Shimoni. 15 And the name of the Midyanit woman that was slain was Kozbi, the daughter of Tzur; he was head of the people of a fathers' house in Midyan.
16 And יהוה spoke unto Moshe, saying, 17 "Harass the Midyanim, and smite them; 18 for they harass you, by their wiles wherewith they have beguiled you in the matter of Peh'or, and in the matter of Kozbi, the daughter of the prince of Midyan, their sister, who was slain on the day of the plague in the matter of Peh'or."

BaMidbar Chapter 26
1 And it came to pass after the plague, that יהוה spoke unto Moshe and unto El Azar Ben Aharon the kohen, saying, 2 "Take the sum of all the assembly of B'nei Yisra'el, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers' houses, all that are able to go forth to war in Yisra'el." 3 And Moshe and El Azar the kohen spoke with them in the plains of Mo'av by the Yarden at Yerekho, saying, 4 "[Take the sum of the people,] from twenty years old and upward, as יהוה commanded Moshe and B'nei Yisra'el, that came forth out of the land of Mitzrayim." 5 Re'uven, the first-born of Yisra'el: the sons of Re'uven: of Khanokh, the family of the Khanokhi; of Pallu, the family of the Pallu'ii; 6 of Khetzron, the family of the Khetzroni; of Karmi, the family of the Karmi. 7 These are the families of the Re'uveni; and they that were numbered of them were forty-three thousand and seven hundred and thirty. 8 And the sons of Pallu: Eli'av. 9 And the sons of Eli'av: Nemu'el, and Datan, and Aviram. These are that Datan and Aviram, the elect of the assembly, who strove against Moshe and against Aharon in the company of Korakh, when they strove against יהוה ; and 10 the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korakh, when that company died; what time the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men, and they became a sign. 11 Notwithstanding the sons of Korakh died not.

28 The sons of Yosef after their families: Menasheh and Efrayim. 29 The sons of Menasheh: of Makhir, the family of the Makhiri, and Makhir begot Gilad; of Gilad, the family of the Giladi. 30 These are the sons of Gilad: of I'ezer, the family of the I'ezeri; of Khelek, the family of the Khelki; 31 and of Asri'el, the family of the Asri'eli; and of Shekhem, the family of the Shekhemi; 32 and of Shemida, the family of the Shemida'ii; and of Khefer, the family of the Kheferi. 33 And Tzelofehad Ben Khefer had no sons, but daughters; and the names of the daughters of Tzelofehad were Makhlah, and No'ah, Khoglah, Milkah, and Tirtzah. 34 These are the families of Menasheh; and they that were numbered of them were fifty-two thousand and seven hundred.
35 These are the sons of Efrayim after their families: of Shutelah, the family of the Shutelahi; of Bekher, the family of the Bekheri; of Tahan, the family of the Tahani. 36 And these are the sons of Shutelah: of Eran, the family of the Erani. 37 These are the families of the sons of Efrayim according to those that were numbered of them, thirty-two thousand and five hundred. These are the sons of Yosef after their families.
38 The sons of Binyamin after their families: of Bela, the family of the Bali; of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbeli; of Akhiram, the family of the Akhirami; 39 of Shefufam, the family of the Shufami; of Khufam, the family of the Khufami. 40 And the sons of Bela were Ard and Na'aman; [of Ard,] the family of the Ardi; of Na'aman, the family of the Na'ami. 41 These are the sons of Binyamin after their families; and they that were numbered of them were forty-five thousand and six hundred.
42 These are the sons of Dan after their families: of Shukham, the family of the Shukhami. These are the families of Dan after their families. 43 All the families of the Shukhami, according to those that were numbered of them, were sixty-four thousand and four hundred.
44 The sons of Asher after their families: of Imnah, the family of the Imni; of Ishvi, the family of the Ishvi; of Beri'ah, the family of the Berii. 45 Of the sons of Beri'ah: of Khever, the family of the Kheveri; of Malkhi'el, the family of the Malkhi'eli. 46 And the name of the daughter of Asher was Serah. 47 These are the families of the sons of Asher according to those that were numbered of them, fifty-three thousand and four hundred.

51 These are they that were numbered of B'nei Yisra'el, six hundred thousand, one thousand and seven hundred and thirty. 52 And יהוה spoke unto Moshe, saying, 53 "Unto these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names. 54 To the more you shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer you shall give the less inheritance; to each one according to those that were numbered of it shall its inheritance be given. 55 Notwithstanding the land shall be divided by lot; according to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit. 56 According to the lot shall their inheritance be divided between the more and the fewer."
57 And these are they that were numbered of HaLevi, after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershoni; of Kehat, the family of the Kehati; of Merari, the family of the Merari. 58 These are the families of Levi: the family of the Livni, the family of the Khevroni, the family of the Mahli, the family of the Mushi, the family of the Karkhi. And Kehat begot Amram. 59 And the name of Amram's wife was Yokheved, the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Mitzrayim; and she bore unto Amram Aharon and Moshe, and Miryam their sister. 60 And unto Aharon were born Nadav and Avihu, El Azar and Itamar. 61 And Nadav and Avihu died, when they offered strange fire before יהוה . And62 they that were numbered of them were twenty-three thousand, every male from a khodesh old and upward; for they were not numbered among B'nei Yisra'el, because there was no inheritance given them among B'nei Yisra'el.
63 These are they that were numbered by Moshe and El Azar the kohen, who numbered B'nei Yisra'el in the plains of Mo'av by the Yarden at Yerekho. 64 But among these there was not a man of them that were numbered by Moshe and Aharon the kohen, who numbered B'nei Yisra'el in the wilderness of Sinai. 65 For יהוה had said of them, "They shall surely die in the wilderness." And there was not left a man of them, save Kalev Ben Yefuneh, and Yehoshua Bin Nun.

BaMidbar Chapter 27
1 Then the daughters of Tzelofehad Ben Khefer, Ben Gilad, Ben Makhir, Ben Menasheh, of the families of Menasheh the son of Yosef, drew near; and these are the names of his daughters: Makhlah, No’ah, and Khoglah, and Milkah, and Tirtzah. 2 And they stood before Moshe, and before El Azar the kohen, and before the princes and all the assembly, at the door of the Ohel Mo'ed, saying, 3 "Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not among the company of them that gathered themselves together against יהוה in the company of Korakh, but he died in his own sin; and he had no sons. 4 Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he had no son? Give unto us a possession among the brethren of our father." 5 And Moshe brought their cause before יהוה .
6 And יהוה spoke unto Moshe, saying, 7 "The daughters of Tzelofehad speak right: you shall surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brethren; and you shall cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them. 8 And you shall speak unto B'nei Yisra'el, saying, 'If a man dies, and has no son, then you shall cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter. 9 And if he has no daughter, then you shall give his inheritance unto his brethren. 10 And if he has no brethren, then you shall give his inheritance unto his father's brethren. 11 And if his father has no brethren, then you shall give his inheritance unto his kinsman that is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it. And it shall be unto B'nei Yisra'el a statute of judgment, as יהוה commanded Moshe."
12 And יהוה said unto Moshe, "Get yourself up into this mountain of Avarim, and behold the land which I have given unto B'nei Yisra'el. 13 And when you have seen it, you also shall be gathered unto your people, as Aharon your brother was gathered; 14 because you rebelled against My mitzvah in the wilderness of Tzin, in the strife of the assembly, to set Me apart at the waters before their eyes." These are the waters of Meribat-kadesh in the wilderness of Tzin.
15 And Moshe spoke unto יהוה , saying, 16 "Let יהוה , the Elohim of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the assembly, 17 who may go out before them, and who may come in before them, and who may lead them out, and who may bring them in; that the assembly of יהוה be not as sheep which have no shepherd." 18 And יהוה said unto Moshe, "Take Yehoshua Bin Nun, a man in whom the Ru’akh is, and lay your hand upon him; 19 and set him before El Azar the kohen, and before all the assembly; and give him a charge in their sight. 20 And you shall put of your splendor upon him, that all the assembly of B'nei Yisra'el may hearken. 21 And he shall stand before El Azar the kohen, who shall inquire for him by the judgment of the Urim before יהוה ; at his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he and all B'nei Yisra'el with him, even all the assembly." 22 And Moshe did as יהוה commanded him; and he took Yehoshua, and set him before El Azar the kohen, and before all the assembly. 23 And he laid his hands upon him, and gave him a charge, as יהוה spoke by the hand of Moshe.

BaMidbar Chapter 28
1 And יהוה spoke unto Moshe, saying, 2 "Command B'nei Yisra'el, and say unto them, 'My food which is presented unto Me for offerings made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Me, shall you observe to offer unto Me in its due season.' 3 And you shall say unto them, 'This is the offering made by fire which you shall bring unto יהוה : he-lambs of the first year without blemish, two day by day, for an Olah Tamid. 4 The one lamb shall you offer in the morning, and the other lamb shall you offer at dusk; 5 and the tenth part of an efah of fine flour for a Minkhah, mingled with the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil. 6 It is an Olah Tamid, which was offered in Har Sinai, for a sweet savor, an offering made by fire unto יהוה . And7 the Nesekh thereof shall be the fourth part of a hin for the one lamb; in HaKodesh shall you pour out a Nesekh Shekhar of strong drink unto יהוה . And8 the other lamb shall you present at dusk; as the Minkhah of the morning, and as the Nesekh thereof you shall present it, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto יהוה .
9 And on Yom HaShabbat two he-lambs of the first year without blemish, and two tenth parts of an efah of fine flour for a Minkhah, mingled with oil, and the Nesekh thereof. 10 This is the Olah of every Shabbat, beside the Olah Tamid, and the Nesekh thereof.
11 And in Rashei Khadasheikhem you shall present an Olah unto יהוה : two young bullocks, and one ram, seven he-lambs of the first year without blemish; 12 and three tenth parts of an efah of fine flour for a Minkhah, mingled with oil, for each bullock; and two tenth parts of fine flour for a Minkhah, mingled with oil, for the one ram; 13 and a several tenth part of fine flour mingled with oil for a Minkhah unto every lamb; for an Olah of a sweet savor, an offering made by fire unto יהוה . And14 their Nesekh shall be half a hin of wine for a bullock, and the third part of a hin for the ram, and the fourth part of a hin for a lamb. This is the Olah of every khodesh throughout the months of the year. 15 And one he-goat for a Khatat unto יהוה ; it shall be offered beside the Olah Tamid, and the Nesekh thereof.
16 And in the first khodesh, on the fourteenth day of the khodesh, is the Pesakh of יהוה . And17 on the fifteenth day of this khodesh shall be a Mo'ed; seven days shall Matzot be eaten. 18 In the first day shall be a Mikra Kodesh; you shall do no manner of servile work; 19 but you shall present an offering made by fire, an Olah unto יהוה : two young bullocks, and one ram, and seven he-lambs of the first year; they shall be unto you without blemish; 20 and their Minkhah, fine flour mingled with oil; three tenth parts shall you offer for a bullock, and two tenth parts for the ram; 21 a several tenth part shall you offer for every lamb of the seven lambs; 22 and one he-goat for a Khatat, to make atonement for you. 23 you shall offer these beside the Olah of the morning, which is for an Olah Tamid. 24 After this manner you shall offer daily, for seven days, the food of the offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto יהוה ; it shall be offered beside the Olah Tamid, and the Nesekh thereof. 25 And on the seventh day you shall have a Mikra Kodesh; you shall do no manner of servile work.
26 Also in Yom HaBikurim, when you bring a new Minkhah unto יהוה in your Shavu'ot, you shall have a Mikra Kodesh: you shall do no manner of servile work; 27 but you shall present an Olah for a sweet savor unto יהוה : two young bullocks, one ram, seven he-lambs of the first year; 28 and their Minkhah, fine flour mingled with oil, three tenth parts for each bullock, two tenth parts for the one ram, 29 a several tenth part for every lamb of the seven lambs; 30 one he-goat, to make atonement for you. 31 Beside the Olah Tamid, and the Minkhah thereof, you shall offer them, they shall be unto you without blemish, and their Nesekh.

HAFTARAH

Melakhim Alef Chapter 18
46 And the hand of יהוה was on Eli-Yahu; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Akhav to the entrance of Yizreilah.

Melakhim Alef Chapter 19
1 And Akhav told Izavel all that Eli-Yahu had done, and how he had slain all the prophets with the sword. 2 Then Izavel sent a messenger unto Eli-Yahu, saying, "So let the gods do [to me], and more also, if I make not your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time." 3 And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Be'er Sheva, which belongs to Yehudah, and left his servant there. 4 But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree; and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, "It is enough; now, O יהוה , take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers." 5 And he lay down and slept under a broom tree; and, behold, a Malakh touched him, and said unto him, "Arise and eat." 6 And he looked, and, behold, there was at his head a cake baked on the hot stones, and a cruse of water. And he did eat and drink, and laid himself down again. 7 And the Malakh יהוה came again the second time, and touched him, and said, "Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for you." 8 And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meal forty days and forty nights unto Khorev the mount of Elohim.
9 And he came there unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the D'var יהוה came to him, and He said unto him, "What are you doing here, Eli-Yahu?" 10 And he said, "I have been very jealous for יהוה ; for B'nei Yisra'el have forsaken Your Brit, thrown down Your altars, and slain Your Nevi'im with the sword; and I, even I only am left; and they seek my life, to take it away." 11 And He said, "Go forth, and stand upon the mount before יהוה ." And, behold, יהוה passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and broke in pieces the rocks before יהוה ; but יהוה was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake; but יהוה was not in the earthquake; 12 and after the earthquake a fire; but יהוה was not in the fire; and after the fire, a still, small voice. 13 And it was so, when Eli-Yahu heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entrance of the cave. And behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, "What are you doing here, Eli-Yahu?" 14 And he said, "I have been very jealous for יהוה ; for B'nei Yisra'el have forsaken Your Brit, thrown down Your altars, and slain Your Nevi'im with the sword; and I, even I only am left; and they seek my life, to take it away." 15 And יהוה said unto him, "Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damesek; and when you come, you shall anoint Khaza'el to be king over Aram; 16 and Yehu Ben Nimshi shall you anoint to be king over Yisra'el; and Elisha Ben Shafat of Avel Mekholah shall you anoint to be Navi under you. 17 And it shall come to pass, that him that escapes from the sword of Khaza'el shall Yehu slay; and him that escapes from the sword of Yehu shall Elisha slay. 18 Yet will I leave seven thousand in Yisra'el, all the knees which have not bowed unto Ba'al, and every mouth which has not kissed him."
19 So he departed there, and found Elisha Ben Shafat, who was plowing, with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth; and Eli-Yahu passed over unto him, and cast his mantle upon him. 20 And he left the oxen, and ran after Eli-Yahu, and said, "Let me, I pray, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you." And he said unto him, "Go back; for what have I done to you?" 21 And he returned from following him, and took the yoke of oxen, and slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave unto the people, and they did eat. Then he arose, and went after Eli-Yahu, and ministered unto him.

KETUVIM

Tehillim Chapter 50
1 A Mizmor for Asaf. God, Elohim, יהוה , has spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
2 Out of Tzion, the perfection of beauty, Elohim has shined forth.
3 Our Elohim comes, and does not keep silence; a fire devours before Him, and round about Him it storms mightily.
4 He calls to the heavens above, and to the earth, that He may judge His people:
5 "Gather My Khasidim together unto Me; those that have made a Brit with Me by sacrifice."
6 And the heavens declare His righteousness; for Elohim, He is judge. Selah.
7 "Hear, O My people, and I will speak; O Yisra'el, and I will testify against you: Elohim, your Elohim, am I.
8 I will not reprove you for your sacrifices; and your Olot are continually before Me.
9 I will take no bullock out of your house, nor he-goats out of your folds.
10 For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.
11 I know all the fowls of the mountains; and the wild beasts of the field are Mine.
12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you; for the world is Mine, and the fullness thereof.
13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
14 Offer unto Elohim the Zevakh Todah; and pay your Nederim unto Elyon;
15 And call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall honor Me."
16 But unto the wicked Elohim says, "What have you to do to declare My statutes, and that you have taken My Brit in your mouth?
17 Seeing you hate instruction, and cast My D'varim behind you.
18 When you saw a thief, you had company with him, and with adulterers was your portion.
19 You have let loose your mouth for evil, and your tongue frames deceit.
20 You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother's son.
21 These things have you done, and should I have kept silence? You had thought that I was altogether such a one as yourself? But I will reprove you, and set the cause before your eyes.
22 Now consider this, you that forget Elohim, lest I tear in pieces, and there be none to deliver.
23 Whoever offers the Zevakh Todah honors Me; and to him that orders his way aright will I show the Salvation of Elohim."

BRIT KHADASHAH

Ma’asei HaShlikhim Chapter 2
1 And when the days of Shavu'ot were counted, while they were assembled together, 2 suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared to them tongues which were divided like flames of fire, and they rested upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with The Ru'akh HaKodesh, and they began to speak in various languages, according to whatever HaRu'akh gave them to speak.
5 Now there dwelt at Yerushalayim devout men and Yehudim from every nation under heaven. 6 And as the sound took place, all the people gathered together, and they were confused because every man heard them speak in his own language. 7 And they were all amazed, and marveled, saying one to another, “Behold, are not all these who speak from the Galil? 8 How is it that we hear every man in our own native language? 9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and those who dwell in Mesopotamia, Yehudim, and Cappadocians, and those from Pontos, and Asia Minor, 10 and those from the region of Phrygia, and of Pamphylia, and of Mitzrayim, and of the regions of Lybia near Cyrene, and those who have come from Rome, both Yehudim and proselytes, 11 and those from Crete, and Arabians, behold, we hear them speak in our own languages of the wonderful works of Elohim.” 12 And they were all amazed and stunned, saying one to another, “What is happening?” 13 Others who were mocking said, “These men are full of choice wine and are drunk.”
14 And afterwards Shimon Kefa stood up together with the eleven Talmidim, and lifted up his voice and said to them, “Men, Yehudim, and all that dwell at Yerushalayim, let this be known to you, and hearken to my words; 15 for these men are not drunk as you suppose, for behold, it is but the third hour of the day. 16 But this is that which was spoken by Yo'el HaNavi: 17 “It shall come to pass in the last days, says Elohim, that I will pour out my Ru'akh upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; 18 and upon my menservants and upon my maidservants will I pour out my Ru'akh in those days; and they shall prophesy; 19 and I will show wonders in the heavens and signs on the earth: blood and fire and vapor of smoke: 20 the sun shall be changed into darkness and the moon into blood, before that great and fearful day of יהוה shall come. 21 And it shall come to pass that whoever shall call on the Name of יהוה shall be saved.'

Yokhanan Markos Chapter 11
27 And they came again to Yerushalayim; and while He was walking in the Heikhal, the chief Kohanim and the Sofrim and the elders came to him. 28 And they said to Him, “By what authority do you do these things, and who gave you this authority to do these things?” 29 Yeshua said to them, “I will also ask you a word to tell me, and then I will tell you by what authority I do these things. 30 From where is the immersion of Yokhanan, from heaven, or from men? Tell me.” 31 And they reasoned among themselves and said, “If we should say to Him, ‘From heaven,' He will say to us, ‘Why then did you not believe him?' 32 And if we should say, ‘From men,' there is the fear of the people, for all of them regard Yokhanan as a true navi.” 33 So they answered, saying to Yeshua, “We do not know.” He said to them, “I will also not tell you by what authority I do these things.”

Yokhanan Markos Chapter 12
1 And He began to speak to them in mishlim. “A man planted a vineyard and fenced it all around, and he dug in it a wine press, and built a tower in it, and then he leased it to laborers and went on a journey. 2 And in due season he sent his servant to the laborers to receive some of the fruits of the vineyard. 3 But they beat him and sent him away empty. 4 And again when he sent to them another servant, they stoned him also and wounded him and sent him away in disgrace. 5 And again he sent another, but they killed him; and he sent many other servants, some of them they beat and some they killed. 6 But finally, he had a very beloved son, and he sent him to them last of all, for he said, ‘They might feel ashamed before my son.' 7 But the laborers said among themselves, ‘This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.' 8 And they took and killed him, and threw him outside of the vineyard. 9 What then will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy those laborers, and give the vineyard to others. 10 Have you not read this scripture: ‘The stone which the builders rejected, the same became the cornerstone? 11 This was from יהוה , and it is a wonder in our eyes'.” 12 They wanted to seize Him, but they were afraid of the people; for they knew that He spoke this mashal against them; and they left Him and went away.
13 And they sent to Him some men of the Sofrim and of the Herodians, that they might trap Him in speech. 14 They came and asked Him, “Teacher, we know that you are true and you do not favor any man; for you are impartial, and you teach the way of Elohim in truth. Does Torah permit to give head tax to Caesar or not? 15 Shall we give or shall we not give?” But He knew their scheme, and said to them, “Why do you test me? Bring me a denarius, that I may see it.” 16 And they brought it to Him. He said to them, “Whose is this image and inscription?” They said, “Caesar’s.” 17 Yeshua said to them, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to Elohim what is Elohim’s.” And they were amazed at Him.
18 Then the Tzedokim came to Him, those who say there is no resurrection; and they asked Him, saying, 19 “Teacher, Moshe wrote to us that if a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife and leaves no children, his brother should take his wife and raise up offspring for his brother. 20 Now there were seven brothers; the first one took a wife and died, and left no offspring. 21 Then the second married her, and he died; he also left no offspring; and likewise the third one. 22 So all seven of them married her, and left no offspring. And after them all, the woman also died. 23 Therefore at the resurrection, whose wife will she be? For all seven had married her.” 24 Yeshua said to them, “Is it not that you err because you do not understand the scriptures nor the power of Elohim? 25 For when they rise from the dead, men neither marry women, nor are women given in marriage to men; but they are like the Malakhim in heaven. 26 Now concerning the rising of the dead, have you not read in the book of Moshe, how Elohim said to him from the bush, ‘I am the Elohim of Avraham, the Elohim of Yitz'khak, and the Elohim of Ya'akov?' 27 And yet He is not the Elohim of the dead, but of the living. You therefore greatly err.”
28 And one of the Sofrim came near and heard them debating, and he saw that He gave them a good answer. So he asked Him, “Which is the first mitzvah of all?” 29 Yeshua said to him, “The first of all the mitzvot is,

‘Shema, Yisra'el, יהוה Eloheinu, יהוה Ekhad! [Hear O Yisra'el, יהוה is our Elohim, יהוה is One]. 30 And you must love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your might;'
this is the first mitzvah. 31 And the second is like unto it, ‘You must love your neighbor as your own nefesh.' There is no other mitzvah greater than these two.”

32 The Sofer said to Him, “Well said, Rabbi, you have said the truth, that He is One, and there is no other besides Him; 33 and that a man should love Him with all the heart and with all the mind and with all the soul and with all the might, and love his neighbor as his own nefesh; this is far more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.” 34 When Yeshua saw that he replied wisely, He answered, saying to him, “You are not far from Malkhut HaElohim.” And no man dared again to question Him.
35 And Yeshua answered, saying as He taught in the Heikhal, “How do the Sofrim say that Mashi'akh is Ben David? 36 For David himself said through The Ru'akh HaKodesh, ' יהוה said to My Adon, ‘Sit on my right hand until I put your enemies as a stool under your feet'.' 37 Now therefore David himself calls him My Adon, and how can He be his son?” And all the people heard Him with pleasure.
