Our Name
“Sing! Daughter of Zion! Shout! Israel! Rejoice and be glad with all your heart, Daughter of Jerusalem! For יהוה has removed your judgment! He has cast out your enemy! The King of Israel, even יהוה, is in the midst of you! Do not fear evil any more!”
Bat-Tzion takes its name from the scriptures above, found in Zephaniah 3:14-15.
Those who believe in Messiah Yeshua are no longer in fear of the judgment for our sins; we are no longer “children of darkness”, children of “this world”, but are children of Jerusalem, the Holy City, and of G-d Most High, its ruler! The Harlot and her “daughters”, the religions of this world, will perish, but the “Daughter of Zion”, “Bat-Tzion,” will forever rejoice in her freedom.
Tzion, or Zion, is another name for Jerusalem, the capital city of Israel, and the place where יהוה promised He would write His name in the earth (Deut 14), and from whence Messiah will rule for 1000 years.
Bat-Tzion: pronounced “bot” as in “robot + “tzee” + “YOAN” as in “groan.” The stress is on “YOAN.”
