B'reshit Chapter 23
1 And the life of Sarah was a hundred and twenty-seven years; these were the years of the life of Sarah. 2 And Sarah died in Kiriyat Arba, the same is Khevron, in the land of Kena'an; and Avraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her. 3 And Avraham rose up from before his dead, and spoke unto the children of Khet, saying, 4 "I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a burying-place with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight." 5 And the children of Khet answered Avraham, saying unto him, 6 "Hear us, My Adon: you are a mighty prince among us; in the choice of our sepulchres bury your dead; none of us shall withhold from you his tomb, but that you may bury your dead." 7 And Avraham rose up, and bowed down to the people of the land, even to the children of Khet. 8 And he spoke with them, saying, "If it is your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight, hear me, and entreat for me to Efron Ben Tzokhar, 9 that he may give me the cave of Makhpelah, which he has, which is in the end of his field; for the full price let him give it to me in the midst of you for a possession of a burying-place." 10 Now Efron was sitting in the midst of the children of Khet; and Efron the Khiti answered Avraham in the hearing of the children of Khet, even of all that went in at the gate of his city, saying, 11 "Nay, My Adon, hear me: the field I give you, and the cave that is therein, I give it to you; in the presence of the sons of my people I give it to you; bury your dead." 12 And Avraham bowed down before the people of the land. 13 And he spoke unto Efron in the hearing of the people of the land, saying, "But if you will, I pray, hear me: I will give the price of the field; take it of me, and I will bury my dead there." 14 And Efron answered Avraham, saying unto him, 15 "My Adon, hearken unto me: a piece of land worth four hundred shekels of silver, what is that between me and you? Bury therefore your dead." 16 And Avraham hearkened unto Efron; and Avraham weighed to Efron the silver, which he had named in the hearing of the children of Khet, four hundred shekels of silver, current money with the merchant. 17 So the field of Efron, which was in Makhpelah, which was before Mamre, the field, and the cave which was therein, and all the trees that were in the field, that were in all the border thereof round about, were made sure 18 unto Avraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Khet, before all that went in at the gate of his city. 19 And after this, Avraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Makhpelah before Mamre, the same is Khevron, in the land of Kena'an. 20 And the field, and the cave that is therein, were made sure unto Avraham for a possession of a burying-place by the children of Khet.

B'reshit Chapter 24
1 And Avraham was old, well stricken in age; and יהוה had blessed Avraham in all things. 2 And Avraham said unto his servant, the elder of his house, that ruled over all that he had, "Put, I pray, your hand under my thigh. 3 And I will make you swear by יהוה , Elohim of heaven and Elohim of the earth, that you shall not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Kena'ani, among whom I dwell. 4 But you shall go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife for my son, even for Yitz'khak." 5 And the servant said unto him, "Perhaps the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land; must I needs bring your son back unto the land from whence you came?" 6 And Avraham said unto him, "Beware that you bring not my son back there. 7 יהוה , the Elohim of heaven, who took me from my father’s house, and from the land of my nativity, and who spoke unto me, and who swore unto me, saying, 'Unto your seed will I give this land,' He will send His Malakh before you, and you shall take a wife for my son from there. 8 And if the woman is not willing to follow you, then you shall be clear from this my oath; only you shall not bring my son back there." 9 And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Avraham his Adon, and swore to him concerning this matter.

Melakhim Alef Chapter 1
1 Now Melekh David was old and stricken in years; and they covered him with clothes, but he could get no heat. 2 Therefore his servants said unto him, "Let there be sought for my Adon HaMelekh a young virgin; and let her stand before HaMelekh, and be a companion unto him; and let her lie in your bosom, that my Adon HaMelekh may get heat." 3 So they sought for a fair damsel throughout all the borders of Yisra'el, and found Avishag the Shunamit, and brought her to HaMelekh. 4 And the damsel was very fair; and she became a companion unto HaMelekh, and ministered to him; but HaMelekh knew her not.
5 Now Adon-Yah Ben Khagit exalted himself, saying, "I will be king"; and he prepared him chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him. 6 And his father had not grieved him all his life in saying, "Why have you done so?" And he was also a very goodly man; and he was born after Avshalom. 7 And he conferred with Yo'av Ben Tz'ru-Yah, and with Evyatar the Kohen; and they, following Adon-Yah, helped him. 8 But Tzadok the Kohen, and Benah-Yahu Ben Yehoyadah, and Natan HaNavi, and Shimi, and Re'i, and the mighty men that belonged to David, were not with Adon-Yah. 9 And Adon-Yah slew sheep and oxen and fatlings by the stone of Zokhelet, which is beside Ein Rogel; and he called all his brethren the sons of HaMelekh, and all the men of Yehudah the servants of HaMelekh; 10 but Natan HaNavi, and Benah-Yahu, and the mighty men, and Shlomo his brother, he called not.
11 Then Natan spoke unto Bat Shevah the mother of Shlomo, saying, "Have you not heard that Adon-Yah Ben Khagit does reign, and David our Adon knows it not? 12 Now therefore come, let me, I pray, give you counsel, that you may save your own life, and the life of your son Shlomo. 13 Go and get yourself in unto Melekh David, and say unto him, 'Did you not, my Adon, O Melekh, swear unto your handmaid, saying, 'Assuredly Shlomo your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? Why then does Adon-Yah reign?' 14 Behold, while you yet talk there with HaMelekh, I also will come in after you, and confirm your words."
15 And Bat Shevah went in unto HaMelekh into the chamber. Now HaMelekh was very old; and Avishag the Shunamit ministered unto HaMelekh. 16 And Bat Shevah bowed, and prostrated herself unto HaMelekh. And HaMelekh said, "What would you have?" 17 And she said unto him, "My Adon, you did swear by יהוה your Elohim unto your handmaid, 'Assuredly Shlomo your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne'. 18 And now, behold, Adon-Yah reigns; and you, my Adon HaMelekh, know it not. 19 And he has slain oxen and fatlings and sheep in abundance, and has called all the sons of HaMelekh, and Evyatar the Kohen, and Yo'av the captain of the host; but Shlomo your servant has he not called. 20 And you, my Adon HaMelekh, the eyes of all Yisra'el are upon you, that you should tell them who shall sit on the throne of my Adon HaMelekh after him. 21 Otherwise it will come to pass, when my Adon HaMelekh shall sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Shlomo shall be counted offenders."
22 And, lo, while she yet talked with HaMelekh, Natan HaNavi came in. 23 And they told HaMelekh, saying, "Behold Natan HaNavi." And when he was come in before HaMelekh, he bowed down before HaMelekh with his face to the ground. 24 And Natan said, "My Adon, O Melekh, have you said, 'Adon-Yah shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne'? 25 For he is gone down this day, and has slain oxen and fatlings and sheep in abundance, and has called all the sons of HaMelekh, and the captains of the host, and Evyatar the Kohen; and, behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, 'Long live king Adon-Yah'. 26 But me, even me your servant, and Tzadok the Kohen, and Benah-Yahu Ben Yehoyadah, and your servant Shlomo, has he not called. 27 Is this thing done by my Adon HaMelekh, and you have not declared unto your servant who should sit on the throne of my Adon HaMelekh after him?"
28 Then Melekh David answered and said, "Call for me Bat Shevah." And she came into the presence of HaMelekh, and stood before HaMelekh. 29 And HaMelekh swore and said, "As יהוה lives, who has redeemed my soul out of all adversity, 30 truly, as I swore unto you by יהוה Elohei Yisra'el, saying, 'Assuredly Shlomo your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead'; truly, so will I do this day." 31 Then Bat Shevah bowed with her face to the earth, and prostrated herself to HaMelekh, and said, "Let my Adon Melekh David live forever."

Matti Chapter 2
1 When Yeshua was born in Beit Lekhem of Y'hudah, in the days of Herodus the king, there came M'gushim from the East to Yerushalayim. 2 And they were saying, “Where is the King of the Yehudim who has been born? For we have seen His star in the East, so we have come to worship Him.” 3 But when Herodus the king heard it, he trembled, and all Yerushalayim with him. 4 So he gathered together all the Kohanim and the Sofrim of the people, and he kept asking them where the Mashi'akh would be born. 5 They said, “In Beit Lekhem of Y'hudah, for thus it is written in the book of the Navi: 6 ‘Even you, Beit Lekhem of Y'hudah, you are not insignificant in the eyes of the kings of Y'hudah, for from you shall come out a king who will shepherd my people Yisra'el.'” 7 Then Herodus called the M'gushim secretly, and he learned from them at what time the star appeared to them. 8 And he sent them to Beit Lekhem, and said to them, “Go and enquire very carefully concerning the boy, and when you have found Him, come back and let me know, so that I also may go and worship Him.” 9 When they had heard from the king, they went away; and behold, the same star that they had seen in the east was going before them, until it came and stood just above the place where the infant boy was. 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly. 11 And they entered the house, and they saw the infant boy with Miryam, His mother; and they threw themselves down and worshipped Him; and they opened their treasures and offered to Him gifts – gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. 12 And they saw in a dream not to return to Herodus, so they departed to their own country by another way. 13 When they had gone, a messenger of יהוה appeared to Yosef in a dream, and said to him, “Arise, take the infant boy and His mother, and escape to Mitzrayim, and stay there until I tell you, for Herodus is ready to demand the child so as to destroy Him.” 14 Then Yosef rose up, took the infant boy and His mother in the night, and escaped to Mitzrayim. 15 And he remained there until the death of Herodus, so that what was said from יהוה by the Navi might be fulfilled, “I have called my son from Mitzrayim.”
16 When Herodus saw that he was insulted by the M'gushim, he was greatly enraged, so he sent forth and had all the infant boys in Beit Lekhem and in its borders killed, from two years old and down, according to the time that he had enquired from the M'gushim. 17 Then was fulfilled what was said by the Navi Yirme-Yahu who said, 18 “A voice was heard in Ramah, weeping and wailing exceedingly, Rakhel weeping for her sons, and she would not be comforted, because they could not be brought back.”
19 When King Herodus died, a messenger of יהוה appeared in a dream to Yosef in Mitzrayim. 20 And he said to him, “Arise, take the boy and His mother, and go to the land of Yisra'el, for those who were seeking the boy’s life are dead. 21 So Yosef rose up, took the boy and His mother, and he came to the land of Yisra'el. 22 But when he heard that Archelaus had become king over Y'hudah in the place of his father Herodus, he was afraid to go there; and it was revealed to him in a dream to go to the land of the Galil. 23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Natzrat, so that what was said by the Navi might be fulfilled, “He shall be called a Natzri.” | מתי פרק ב

57 And while they were on the journey, a man said to Him, “My Adon, I will follow you wherever you go.” 58 Yeshua said to him, “Foxes have holes, and the birds of the air a shelter; but Ben HaAdam has no place even to lay his head.” 59 He said to another, “Follow me,” but he said to Him, “My Adon, permit me first to go and bury my father.” 60 Yeshua said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead; but you, go and declare Malkhut HaElohim.” 61 Another one said to Him, “I will follow you, My Adon; but permit me first to entrust my household to someone, and then come.” 62 Yeshua said to him, “No man who puts his hand on the plough handle and looks back is fit for Malkhut HaElohim.” | לוקא פרק ט
