Shemot Chapter 18
1 Now Yitro, the priest of Midyan, Moshe’s father-in-law, heard of all that Elohim had done for Moshe, and for Yisra'el His people, how that יהוה had brought Yisra'el out of Egypt. 2 And Yitro, Moshe’s father-in-law, took Tziporah, Moshe’s wife, after he had sent her away, 3 and her two sons; of whom the name of the one was Gershom; for he said, "I have been a stranger in a strange land," 4 and the name of the other was Eli-Ezer, "for the Elohim of my father was my help, and delivered me from the sword of Paroh." 5 And Yitro, Moshe’s father-in-law, came with his sons and his wife unto Moshe into the wilderness where he was encamped, at the mount of Elohim; 6 and he said unto Moshe, "I, your father-in-law, Yitro, am coming unto you, and your wife, and her two sons with her." 7 And Moshe went out to meet his father-in-law, and bowed down and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare; and they came into the tent. 8 And Moshe told his father-in-law all that יהוה had done unto Paroh and to Egypt for Yisra'el’s sake, all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how יהוה delivered them. 9 And Yitro rejoiced for all the goodness which יהוה had done to Yisra'el, in that He had delivered them out of the hand of Egypt. 10 And Yitro said, "Blessed is יהוה , who has delivered you out of the hand of Egypt, and out of the hand of Paroh; who has delivered the people from under the hand of Egypt. 11 Now I know that יהוה is greater than all gods; yes, for that in HaDavar it was dealt proudly against them." 12 And Yitro, Moshe’s father-in-law, took an Olah and sacrifices for Elohim; and Aharon came, and all the elders of Yisra'el, to eat bread with Moshe’s father-in-law before Elohim.
13 And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moshe sat to judge the people; and the people stood about Moshe from the morning unto the evening. 14 And when Moshe’s father-in-law saw all that he did for the people, he said, "What is this thing that you do for the people? Why do you sit alone, and all the people stand about you from morning unto evening?" 15 And Moshe said unto his father-in-law, "Because the people come unto me to inquire of Elohim; 16 when they have a matter, it comes unto me; and I judge between a man and his neighbor, and I make them know the Khukot of Elohim, and His instructions." 17 And Moshe’s father-in-law said unto him, "The thing that you do is not good. 18 You will surely wear away, both you, and this people that is with you; for the thing is too heavy for you; you are not able to perform it yourself alone. 19 Hearken now unto my voice, I will give you counsel, and Elohim be with you: you, be for the people before Elohim, and bring the causes unto Elohim. 20 And you shall teach them the Khukot and the instructions, and shall show them HaDerekh wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do. 21 Moreover, you shall provide out of all the people able men, such as fear Elohim, men of truth, hating unjust gain; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. 22 And let them judge the people at all seasons; and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto you, but every small matter they shall judge themselves; so shall they make it easier for you and bear the burden with you. 23 If you shall do this thing, and Elohim commands you so, then you shall be able to endure, and all this people also shall go to their place in shalom." 24 So Moshe hearkened to the voice of his father-in-law, and did all that he had said. 25 And Moshe chose able men out of all Yisra'el, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. 26 And they judged the people at all seasons: the hard causes they brought unto Moshe, but every small matter they judged themselves. 27 And Moshe let his father-in-law depart; and he went his way into his own land.

א וַיִּשְׁמַע יִתְרוֹ כֹהֵן מִדְיָן חֹתֵן מֹשֶׁה אֵת כָּל אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה אֱלֹהִים לְמֹשֶׁה וּלְיִשְׂרָאֵל עַמּוֹ כִּי הוֹצִיא יהוה אֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל מִמִּצְרָיִם. ב וַיִּקַּח יִתְרוֹ חֹתֵן מֹשֶׁה אֶת צִפֹּרָה אֵשֶׁת מֹשֶׁה אַחַר שִׁלּוּחֶיהָ. ג וְאֵת שְׁנֵי בָנֶיהָ אֲשֶׁר שֵׁם הָאֶחָד גֵּרְשֹׁם כִּי אָמַר גֵּר הָיִיתִי בְּאֶרֶץ נָכְרִיָּה. ד וְשֵׁם הָאֶחָד אֱלִיעֶזֶר כִּי אֱלֹהֵי אָבִי בְּעֶזְרִי וַיַּצִּלֵנִי מֵחֶרֶב פַּרְעֹה. הוַיָּבֹא יִתְרוֹ חֹתֵן מֹשֶׁה וּבָנָיו וְאִשְׁתּוֹ אֶל מֹשֶׁה אֶל הַמִּדְבָּר אֲשֶׁר הוּא חֹנֶה שָׁם הַר הָאֱלֹהִים. ו וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל מֹשֶׁה אֲנִי חֹתֶנְךָ יִתְרוֹ בָּא אֵלֶיךָ וְאִשְׁתְּךָ וּשְׁנֵי בָנֶיהָ עִמָּהּ. ז וַיֵּצֵא מֹשֶׁה לִקְרַאת חֹתְנוֹ וַיִּשְׁתַּחוּ וַיִּשַּׁק לוֹ וַיִּשְׁאֲלוּ אִישׁ לְרֵעֵהוּ לְשָׁלוֹם וַיָּבֹאוּ הָאֹהֱלָה. ח וַיְסַפֵּר מֹשֶׁה לְחֹתְנוֹ אֵת כָּל אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה יהוה לְפַרְעֹה וּלְמִצְרַיִם עַל אוֹדֹת יִשְׂרָאֵל אֵת כָּל הַתְּלָאָה אֲשֶׁר מְצָאָתַם בַּדֶּרֶךְ וַיַּצִּלֵם יהוה . ט וַיִּחַדְּ יִתְרוֹ עַל כָּל הַטּוֹבָה אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה יהוה לְיִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר הִצִּילוֹ מִיַּד מִצְרָיִם. י וַיֹּאמֶר יִתְרוֹ בָּרוּךְ יהוה אֲשֶׁר הִצִּיל אֶתְכֶם מִיַּד מִצְרַיִם וּמִיַּד פַּרְעֹה אֲשֶׁר הִצִּיל אֶת הָעָם מִתַּחַת יַד מִצְרָיִם. יא עַתָּה יָדַעְתִּי כִּי גָדוֹל יהוה מִכָּל הָאֱלֹהִים כִּי בַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר זָדוּ עֲלֵיהֶם. יב וַיִּקַּח יִתְרוֹ חֹתֵן מֹשֶׁה עֹלָה וּזְבָחִים לֵאלֹהִים וַיָּבֹא אַהֲרֹן וְכֹל זִקְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לֶאֱכָל לֶחֶם עִם חֹתֵן מֹשֶׁה לִפְנֵי הָאֱלֹהִים.
יג וַיְהִי מִמָּחֳרָת וַיֵּשֶׁב מֹשֶׁה לִשְׁפֹּט אֶת הָעָם וַיַּעֲמֹד הָעָם עַל מֹשֶׁה מִן הַבֹּקֶר עַד הָעָרֶב. יד וַיַּרְא חֹתֵן מֹשֶׁה אֵת כָּל אֲשֶׁר הוּא עֹשֶׂה לָעָם וַיֹּאמֶר מָה הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה עֹשֶׂה לָעָם מַדּוּעַ אַתָּה יוֹשֵׁב לְבַדֶּךָ וְכָל הָעָם נִצָּב עָלֶיךָ מִן בֹּקֶר עַד עָרֶב. טו וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה לְחֹתְנוֹ כִּי יָבֹא אֵלַי הָעָם לִדְרֹשׁ אֱלֹהִים. טז כִּי יִהְיֶה לָהֶם דָּבָר בָּא אֵלַי וְשָׁפַטְתִּי בֵּין אִישׁ וּבֵין רֵעֵהוּ וְהוֹדַעְתִּי אֶת חֻקֵּי הָאֱלֹהִים וְאֶת תּוֹרֹתָיו. יז וַיֹּאמֶר חֹתֵן מֹשֶׁה אֵלָיו לֹא טוֹב הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה עֹשֶׂה. יח נָבֹל תִּבֹּל גַּם אַתָּה גַּם הָעָם הַזֶּה אֲשֶׁר עִמָּךְ כִּי כָבֵד מִמְּךָ הַדָּבָר לֹא תוּכַל עֲשֹׂהוּ לְבַדֶּךָ. יט עַתָּה שְׁמַע בְּקֹלִי אִיעָצְךָ וִיהִי אֱלֹהִים עִמָּךְ הֱיֵה אַתָּה לָעָם מוּל הָאֱלֹהִים וְהֵבֵאתָ אַתָּה אֶת הַדְּבָרִים אֶל הָאֱלֹהִים. כ וְהִזְהַרְתָּה אֶתְהֶם אֶת הַחֻקִּים וְאֶת הַתּוֹרֹת וְהוֹדַעְתָּ לָהֶם אֶת הַדֶּרֶךְ יֵלְכוּ בָהּ וְאֶת הַמַּעֲשֶׂה אֲשֶׁר יַעֲשׂוּן. כא וְאַתָּה תֶחֱזֶה מִכָּל הָעָם אַנְשֵׁי חַיִל יִרְאֵי אֱלֹהִים אַנְשֵׁי אֱמֶת שֹׂנְאֵי בָצַע וְשַׂמְתָּ עֲלֵהֶם שָׂרֵי אֲלָפִים שָׂרֵי מֵאוֹת שָׂרֵי חֲמִשִּׁים וְשָׂרֵי עֲשָׂרֹת. כב וְשָׁפְטוּ אֶת הָעָם בְּכָל עֵת וְהָיָה כָּל הַדָּבָר הַגָּדֹל יָבִיאוּ אֵלֶיךָ וְכָל הַדָּבָר הַקָּטֹן יִשְׁפְּטוּ הֵם וְהָקֵל מֵעָלֶיךָ וְנָשְׂאוּ אִתָּךְ. כג אִם אֶת הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה תַּעֲשֶׂה וְצִוְּךָ אֱלֹהִים וְיָכָלְתָּ עֲמֹד וְגַם כָּל הָעָם הַזֶּה עַל מְקֹמוֹ יָבֹא בְשָׁלוֹם. כד וַיִּשְׁמַע מֹשֶׁה לְקוֹל חֹתְנוֹ וַיַּעַשׂ כֹּל אֲשֶׁר אָמָר. כה וַיִּבְחַר מֹשֶׁה אַנְשֵׁי חַיִל מִכָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל וַיִּתֵּן אֹתָם רָאשִׁים עַל הָעָם שָׂרֵי אֲלָפִים שָׂרֵי מֵאוֹת שָׂרֵי חֲמִשִּׁים וְשָׂרֵי עֲשָׂרֹת. כו וְשָׁפְטוּ אֶת הָעָם בְּכָל עֵת אֶת הַדָּבָר הַקָּשֶׁה יְבִיאוּן אֶל מֹשֶׁה וְכָל הַדָּבָר הַקָּטֹן יִשְׁפּוּטוּ הֵם. כז וַיְשַׁלַּח מֹשֶׁה אֶת חֹתְנוֹ וַיֵּלֶךְ לוֹ אֶל אַרְצוֹ.

Yesha-Yahu Chapter 6
1 In the year that Melekh Uzi-Yahu died, I saw Adonai sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and His train filled the temple. 2 Above Him stood the serafim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And they called to each other, and said, "Kadosh, Kadosh, Kadosh, is יהוה Tzeva'ot; the whole earth is full of His glory". 4 And the posts of the door were moved at the voice of them that called, and the house was filled with smoke. 5 Then said I, "Woe is me! For I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen HaMelekh, יהוה Tzeva'ot". 6 Then one of the serafim flew unto me, with a glowing stone in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the Mizbe’akh; 7 and he touched my mouth with it, and said, "Lo, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away, and your sin expiated". 8 And I heard the voice of Adonai, saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" Then I said, "Here am I; send me." 9 And He said, "Go, and tell this people, 'You hear indeed, but understand not; and you see indeed, but perceive not'. 10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they, seeing with their eyes, and hearing with their ears, and understanding with their heart, return, and be healed". 11 Then said I, "Adonai, how long?" And He answered, "Until cities are wasted without inhabitant, and houses without man, and the land becomes utterly waste, 12 and יהוה has removed men far away, and the forsaken places are many in the midst of the land. 13 And if there is yet a tenth in it, it shall again be eaten up; as a terebinth, and as an oak, whose stock remains, when they cast their leaves, so the kadosh seed shall be the stock thereof."

יְשַׁעְיָהוּ פרק ו
א בִּשְׁנַת מוֹת הַמֶּלֶךְ עֻזִּיָּהוּ וָאֶרְאֶה אֶת אֲדֹנָי יֹשֵׁב עַל כִּסֵּא רָם וְנִשָּׂא; וְשׁוּלָיו מְלֵאִים אֶת הַהֵיכָל. ב שְׂרָפִים עֹמְדִים מִמַּעַל לוֹ שֵׁשׁ כְּנָפַיִם שֵׁשׁ כְּנָפַיִם לְאֶחָד: בִּשְׁתַּיִם יְכַסֶּה פָנָיו וּבִשְׁתַּיִם יְכַסֶּה רַגְלָיו וּבִשְׁתַּיִם יְעוֹפֵף. ג וְקָרָא זֶה אֶל זֶה וְאָמַר קָדוֹשׁ קָדוֹשׁ קָדוֹשׁ יהוה צְבָאוֹת; מְלֹא כָל הָאָרֶץ כְּבוֹדוֹ. ד וַיָּנֻעוּ אַמּוֹת הַסִּפִּים מִקּוֹל הַקּוֹרֵא; וְהַבַּיִת יִמָּלֵא עָשָׁן. ה וָאֹמַר אוֹי לִי כִי נִדְמֵיתִי כִּי אִישׁ טְמֵא שְׂפָתַיִם אָנֹכִי וּבְתוֹךְ עַם טְמֵא שְׂפָתַיִם אָנֹכִי יוֹשֵׁב: כִּי אֶת הַמֶּלֶךְ יהוה צְבָאוֹת רָאוּ עֵינָי. ו וַיָּעָף אֵלַי אֶחָד מִן הַשְּׂרָפִים וּבְיָדוֹ רִצְפָּה; בְּמֶלְקַחַיִם לָקַח מֵעַל הַמִּזְבֵּחַ. ז וַיַּגַּע עַל פִּי וַיֹּאמֶר הִנֵּה נָגַע זֶה עַל שְׂפָתֶיךָ; וְסָר עֲו‍ֹנֶךָ וְחַטָּאתְךָ תְּכֻפָּר. ח וָאֶשְׁמַע אֶת קוֹל אֲדֹנָי אֹמֵר אֶת מִי אֶשְׁלַח וּמִי יֵלֶךְ לָנוּ; וָאֹמַר הִנְנִי שְׁלָחֵנִי. ט וַיֹּאמֶר לֵךְ וְאָמַרְתָּ לָעָם הַזֶּה: שִׁמְעוּ שָׁמוֹעַ וְאַל תָּבִינוּ וּרְאוּ רָאוֹ וְאַל תֵּדָעוּ. י הַשְׁמֵן לֵב הָעָם הַזֶּה וְאָזְנָיו הַכְבֵּד וְעֵינָיו הָשַׁע: פֶּן יִרְאֶה בְעֵינָיו וּבְאָזְנָיו יִשְׁמָע וּלְבָבוֹ יָבִין וָשָׁב וְרָפָא לוֹ. יא וָאֹמַר עַד מָתַי אֲדֹנָי; וַיֹּאמֶר עַד אֲשֶׁר אִם שָׁאוּ עָרִים מֵאֵין יוֹשֵׁב וּבָתִּים מֵאֵין אָדָם וְהָאֲדָמָה תִּשָּׁאֶה שְׁמָמָה. יב וְרִחַק יהוה אֶת הָאָדָם; וְרַבָּה הָעֲזוּבָה בְּקֶרֶב הָאָרֶץ. יג וְעוֹד בָּהּ עֲשִׂרִיָּה וְשָׁבָה וְהָיְתָה לְבָעֵר: כָּאֵלָה וְכָאַלּוֹן אֲשֶׁר בְּשַׁלֶּכֶת מַצֶּבֶת בָּם זֶרַע קֹדֶשׁ מַצַּבְתָּהּ.

Yesha-Yahu Chapter 9
5 For a boy is born unto us, a Son is given unto us; and the government is upon his shoulder; and his name is called Peleh Yo'etz El Gibor Avi Ad Sar Shalom [Wonderful Counselor (of the) Mighty G-d (the) Eternal Father Prince of Shalom]; 6 that the government may be increased, and of Shalom there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon Malkhuto, to establish it, and to uphold it through justice and through Tzedaka, from henceforth, even forever. The zeal of יהוה Tzeva'ot does perform this."

יְשַׁעְיָהוּ פרק ט
ה כִּי יֶלֶד יֻלַּד לָנוּ בֵּן נִתַּן לָנוּ וַתְּהִי הַמִּשְׂרָה עַל שִׁכְמוֹ; וַיִּקְרָא שְׁמוֹ פֶּלֶא יוֹעֵץ אֵל גִּבּוֹר אֲבִי עַד שַׂר שָׁלוֹם. ו לם רבה (לְמַרְבֵּה) הַמִּשְׂרָה וּלְשָׁלוֹם אֵין קֵץ עַל כִּסֵּא דָוִד וְעַל מַמְלַכְתּוֹ לְהָכִין אֹתָהּ וּלְסַעֲדָהּ בְּמִשְׁפָּט וּבִצְדָקָה; מֵעַתָּה וְעַד עוֹלָם קִנְאַת יהוה צְבָאוֹת תַּעֲשֶׂה זֹּאת.

Matti Chapter 6
1 "Be careful concerning your alms, not to do them in the presence of men, merely that they may see them; otherwise you have no reward with Avikhem in Heaven. 2 Therefore when you give alms, do not blow a horn before you, just as the hypocrites do in the Beit K’nessets and in the market places, so that they may be glorified by men. Truly I say to you that they have already received their reward. 3 But when you give alms, let not your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your alms may be done secretly, and Avikhem who sees in secret, shall Himself reward you openly.” 
5 "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who like to pray standing in the Beit K’nessets and at the street corners, so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you that they have already received their reward. 6 But you, when you pray, enter into your inner chamber, and lock your door, and pray to Avikhem who is in secret, and Avikhem who sees in secret, He Himself shall reward you openly. 7 And when you pray, do not repeat your words like the pagans, for they think that because of much talking they will be heard. 8 Therefore, do not be like them, for Avikhem knows what you need, before you ask Him.” 
9 "Therefore pray in this manner: ‘Avinu Sh’bah Shamayim, may Your Name be made Kadosh. 10 May Your Kingdom come. May Your will be done, as in Heaven, so on earth. 11 Give us the bread we need today. 12 And forgive us our offenses, as we have forgiven our offenders; 13 and do not lead us into the power of testing, but deliver us from the Evil One. Because Yours is HaMalkhut, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amein.' 14 For if you forgive men their faults, Avikhem in Heaven will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men, neither will Avikhem forgive even your faults.” 
16 "When you fast, do not look sad like the hypocrites; for they disfigure their faces, so that they may appear to men that they are fasting. Truly I say to you that they have already received their reward. 17 But you, when you fast, wash your face and anoint your head; 18 so that it may not appear to men that you are fasting, but to Avikhem who is in secret; and Avikhem who sees in secret, He will reward you.”  
19 "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures in the earth, a place where rust and moth destroy, and where thieves break through and steal. 20 But lay up for yourselves a treasure in heaven, where neither rust nor moth destroys, and where thieves do not break through and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there also is your heart. 22 The eye is the lamp of the body; if therefore your eye is clear, your whole body is also lighted. 23 But if your eye is diseased, your whole body will be dark. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how much more will be your darkness?”  
24 "No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and like the other; or he will honor one, and despise the other. You cannot serve Elohim and mammon. 25 For this reason, I say to you, do not worry for your life, what you will eat, and what you will drink, nor for your body, what you will wear. Behold, is not life much more important than food, and the body than clothing? 26 Watch the birds of the sky, for they do not sow, neither do they harvest, nor gather into barns, and yet Avikhem in Heaven feeds them. Are you not much more important than they? 27 Who is among you who by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 Why do you worry about clothing? Observe the lilies in the wild, how they grow; they do not get tired out, nor do they spin. 29 But I say to you that not even Shlomo with all of his glory was covered like one of them. 30 Now if Elohim clothes in such fashion the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow falls into the fireplace, is He not much more to you, O you of little Emunah? 31 Therefore do not worry or say, ‘What will we eat,' or ‘what will we drink', or ‘with what will we be clothed?' 32 For worldly people seek after all these things. Your Father in Heaven knows that all of these things are also necessary for you. 33 But you, seek first Malkhut HaElohim and His tzedaka, and all of these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry for tomorrow; for tomorrow will look after its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble.”

מתי פרק ו
א הִזָּהֲרוּ בְּצִדְקַתְכֶם, שֶׁלֹּא תַּעֲשׂוּהָ לִפְנֵי בְּנֵי אָדָם כְּדֵי לְהֵרָאוֹת לָהֶם; אִם לָאו, אֵין לָכֶם שָׂכָר אֵצֶל אֲבִיכֶם שֶׁבַּשָּׁמַיִם. ב לָכֵן כַּאֲשֶׁר אַתָּה עוֹשֶׂה צְדָקָה, אַל תָּרִיעַ בַּקֶּרֶן לְפָנֶיךָ כְּמוֹ שֶׁעוֹשִׂים מַעֲמִידֵי הַפָּנִים בְּבָתֵּי הַכְּנֶסֶת וּבָרְחוֹבוֹת כְּדֵי שֶׁיְּשֻׁבְּחוּ עַל יְדֵי בְּנֵי אָדָם. וְאָמֵן אוֹמֵר אֲנִי לָכֶם, שֶׁקִּבְּלוּ אֶת שְׂכָרָם. ג אֲבָל אַתָּה, בַּעֲשׂוֹתְךָ צְדָקָה, אַל תֵּדַע שְׂמֹאלְךָ מָה עוֹשָׂה יְמִינְךָ, ד לְמַעַן תִּהְיֶה צִדְקָתְךָ בַּסֵּתֶר וְאָבִיךָ הָרוֹאֶה בַּסֵּתֶר הוּא יִגְמֹל לְךָ בְּגָלוּי.
ה וְכַאֲשֶׁר אַתָּה מִתְפַּלֵּל, אַל תִּהְיֶה כְּמַעֲמִידֵי הַפָּנִים, הָאוֹהֲבִים לַעֲמֹד וּלְהִתְפַּלֵּל בְּבָתֵּי הַכְּנֶסֶת וּבְפִנּוֹת הָרְחוֹבוֹת כְּדֵי שֶׁיֵּרָאוּ לִבְנֵי אָדָם. וְאָמֵן אוֹמֵר אֲנִי לָכֶם, שֶׁקִּבְּלוּ אֶת שְׂכָרָם. ו אֲבָל אַתָּה, כַּאֲשֶׁר אַתָּה מִתְפַּלֵּל, הִכָּנֵס לְחַדְרְךָ וּסְגֹר דַּלְתְּךָ וְהִתְפַּלֵּל לְאָבִיךָ אֲשֶׁר בַּסֵּתֶר; וְאָבִיךָ הָרוֹאֶה בַּסֵּתֶר יִגְמֹל לְךָ בְּגָלוּי. ז וְכַאֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם מִתְפַּלְּלִים, אַל תְּפַטְפְּטוּ כְּעוֹבְדֵי הָאֱלִילִים; כִּי חוֹשְׁבִים הֵם שֶׁבְּרֹב דִּבּוּר יִשָּׁמְעוּ. ח לָכֵן אַל תִּדַּמּוּ לָהֶם, שֶׁהֲרֵי אֲבִיכֶם יוֹדֵעַ מַה דָּרוּשׁ לָכֶם בְּטֶרֶם תְּבַקְּשׁוּ מִמֶּנּוּ.
ט לָכֵן כָּךְ הִתְפַּלְּלוּ אַתֶּם: אָבִינוּ שֶׁבַּשָּׁמַיִם, יִתְקַדֵּשׁ שִׁמְךָ, י תָּבוֹא מַלְכוּתְךָ, יֵעָשֶׂה רְצוֹנְךָ כְּבַשָּׁמַיִם גַּם בָּאָרֶץ. יא תֵּן לָנוּ אֶת לֶחֶם צָרְכֵּנוּ הַיּוֹם, יב וּמְחַל לָנוּ אֶת חוֹבוֹתֵינוּ כְּמוֹ שֶׁגַּם אֲנַחְנוּ מָחַלְנוּ לְחַיָּבֵינוּ. יג וְאַל תְּבִיאֵנוּ לִידֵי נִסָּיוֹן, אֶלָּא הַצִּילֵנוּ מִן הָרָע, כִּי שֶׁלְּךָ הִיא הַמַּלְכוּת וְהַגְּבוּרָה וְהַתִּפְאָרָה לְעוֹלְמֵי עוֹלָמִים. יד שֶׁכֵּן אִם תִּמְחֲלוּ לִבְנֵי אָדָם אֶת עֲווֹנוֹתֵיהֶם, יִמְחַל גַּם לָכֶם אֲבִיכֶם שֶׁבַּשָּׁמַיִם. טו אֲבָל אִם לֹא תִּמְחֲלוּ לִבְנֵי אָדָם, גַּם אֲבִיכֶם לֹא יִמְחַל לָכֶם אֶת עֲווֹנוֹתֵיכֶם.
טז וְכַאֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם צָמִים, אַל תִּהְיוּ עֲצוּבִים כְּמוֹ מַעֲמִידֵי הַפָּנִים; כִּי מְעַוְּתִים הֵם אֶת פְּנֵיהֶם כְּדֵי שֶׁיֵּרָאוּ צָמִים לִבְנֵי אָדָם. וְאָמֵן אוֹמֵר אֲנִי לָכֶם, שֶׁקִּבְּלוּ אֶת שְׂכָרָם. יז אֲבָל אַתָּה, כַּאֲשֶׁר אַתָּה צָם, רְחַץ פָּנֶיךָ וּמְשַׁח רֹאשְׁךָ, יח כְּדֵי שֶׁלֹּא תֵּרָאֶה לִבְנֵי אָדָם שֶׁאַתָּה צָם, אֶלָּא לְאָבִיךָ אֲשֶׁר בַּסֵּתֶר; וְאָבִיךָ הָרוֹאֶה בַּסֵּתֶר הוּא יִגְמֹל לְךָ.
יט אַל תַּאַצְרוּ לָכֶם אוֹצָרוֹת בָּאָרֶץ, בְּמָקוֹם שֶׁהָעָשׁ וְהַחֲלוּדָה מַשְׁחִיתִים וּבְמָקוֹם שֶׁהַגַּנָּבִים חוֹפְרִים וְגוֹנְבִים; כ אֶלָּא אִצְרוּ לָכֶם אוֹצָרוֹת בַּשָּׁמַיִם, בְּמָקוֹם שֶׁאֵין הָעָשׁ וְהַחֲלוּדָה מַשְׁחִיתִים, וּבְמָקוֹם שֶׁהַגַּנָּבִים אֵינָם חוֹפְרִים וְאֵינָם גּוֹנְבִים; כא כִּי הֵיכָן שֶׁנִּמְצָא אוֹצַרְכֶם, שָׁם גַּם לְבַבְכֶם. כב מְנוֹרַת הַגּוּף הִיא הָעַיִן. לָכֵן אִם עֵינְךָ תִּהְיֶה תְּמִימָה, גַּם כָּל גּוּפְךָ אוֹר הוּא. כג אֲבָל אִם עֵינְךָ תִּהְיֶה רָעָה, כָּל גּוּפְךָ חֹשֶׁךְ יִהְיֶה. לָכֵן אִם הָאוֹר אֲשֶׁר בְּךָ חֹשֶׁךְ הוּא, כַּמָּה תִּהְיֶה חֶשְׁכָתְךָ!
כד אֵין אִישׁ יָכוֹל לַעֲבֹד שְׁנֵי אֲדוֹנִים, שֶׁכֵּן אוֹ יִשְׂנָא אֶחָד וְאֶת הָאַחֵר יֹאהַב, אוֹ יְכַבֵּד אֶחָד וְאֶת הָאַחֵר יִבְזֶה. אֵינְכֶם יְכוֹלִים אֶת הָאֱלֹהִים לַעֲבֹד וְאֶת הַמָּמוֹן. כה עַל כֵּן אוֹמֵר אֲנִי לָכֶם, אַל תִּדְאֲגוּ לְנַפְשְׁכֶם מַה תֹּאכְלוּ וּמַה תִּשְׁתּוּ, וְלֹא לְגוּפְכֶם, מַה תִּלְבְּשׁוּ. הַאֵין הַנֶּפֶשׁ חֲשׁוּבָה יוֹתֵר מִן הַמָּזוֹן, וְהַגּוּף מִן הַלְּבוּשׁ? כו הַבִּיטוּ אֶל עוֹף הַשָּׁמַיִם, שֶׁאֵינָם זוֹרְעִים וְאֵינָם קוֹצְרִים וְאֵינָם אוֹסְפִים לַאֲסָמִים, וַאֲבִיכֶם שֶׁבַּשָּׁמַיִם מְכַלְכֵּל אוֹתָם. הַאֵין אַתֶּם חֲשׁוּבִים מֵהֶם? כז וּמִי מִכֶּם בְּדַאֲגָתוֹ יָכוֹל לְהוֹסִיף עַל קוֹמָתוֹ אַמָּה אַחַת? כח וְלַלְּבוּשׁ מַדּוּעַ דּוֹאֲגִים אַתֶּם? הִתְבּוֹנְנוּ בְּשׁוֹשַׁנֵּי הַשָּׂדֶה אֵיךְ הֵן גְּדֵלוֹת, שֶׁאֵינָן עֲמֵלוֹת וְאֵינָן טוֹווֹת. כט אֲבָל אוֹמֵר אֲנִי לָכֶם, שֶׁאֲפִלּוּ שְׁלֹמֹה בְּכָל הֲדָרוֹ לֹא הָיָה לָבוּשׁ כְּאַחַת מֵהֶן. ל וְאִם אֶת חֲצִיר הַשָּׂדֶה, שֶׁהַיּוֹם יֶשְׁנוֹ, וּמָחָר נוֹפֵל לַתַּנּוּר, כָּכָה מַלְבִּישׁ הָאֱלֹהִים, הַאִם לֹא הַרְבֵּה יוֹתֵר אֶתְכֶם, קְטַנֵּי אֱמוּנָה? לא לָכֵן אַל תִּדְאֲגוּ אוֹ תֹּאמְרוּ: מַה נֹּאכַל? אוֹ: מַה נִּשְׁתֶּה? אוֹ: מַה נִּלְבַּשׁ? לב כִּי אֶת כֹּל אֵלֶּה מְבַקְּשִׁים לָהֶם גּוֹיֵי הָעוֹלָם; וַאֲבִיכֶם שֶׁבַּשָּׁמַיִם יוֹדֵעַ שֶׁגַּם לָכֶם דְּרוּשִׁים כָּל אֵלֶּה. לג אֲבָל בַּקְּשׁוּ תְּחִלָּה אֶת מַלְכוּת הָאֱלֹהִים וְאֶת צִדְקָתוֹ, וְכָל אֵלֶּה יִתּוֹסְפוּ לָכֶם. לד לָכֵן אַל תִּדְאֲגוּ לְמָחָר, כִּי הַמָּחָר דּוֹאֵג לְשֶׁלּוֹ; דַּי לוֹ לַיּוֹם צָרָתוֹ.

א וְכַאֲשֶׁר יָרַד מִן הָהָר, הָלְכוּ אַחֲרָיו הֲמוֹנִים רַבִּים.
